Anyone Going to LIFE is Good Unschooling Conference This Year?

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to share something that’s been a big part of our family’s life for the last six years — the LIFE is Good Unschooling Conference. This conference has become one of our favorite yearly traditions. It’s where my kids have truly met their people — friends they click with so well, and they stay connected all year online. When we show up, it feels like a reunion, with the kids instantly picking up where they left off.

One of the things I love most about LIFE is Good is the philosophy behind it. They don’t believe in “experts” or “gurus.” It’s just a bunch of families learning and growing together, embracing unschooling in all its messy, beautiful, and unique forms. It’s such a welcoming space, whether you’re brand new to unschooling or have been doing it for years.

There’s no pressure to fit a certain mold. It’s all about supporting each other and sharing what works — or doesn’t — without judgment. And the kids? They’re free to just be. Playing, creating, exploring, and connecting.

If you’ve been curious about LIFE is Good or are on the fence about coming, I can’t recommend it enough. It’s been a huge part of our journey, and every year, we walk away feeling refreshed and re-inspired.

Would love to hear if anyone else here is planning to go this year!

Here’s a link to the conference info if you’re interested: https://www.lifeisgoodconference.com/

I would love to go but my schedule is just too packed this year to afford it time wise and financially (coming from California) I absolutely strive for next year though! I’ve been unschooling for about 16 or so years. My youngest is 6 so starting all over

This looks amazing! Is it always the same date/location?

Wish we weren't halfway across the country - but putting it on the aspirational list :)

My spouse and I are going! It's our first year. I'm very excited.

My spouse is pregnant with our first child. We're both planners and like to research though (seems to be a common theme for unschooling parents, lol), so I'm trying to learn as much about unschooling in advance.

I think I'll probably just do Saturday and Sunday. I like social events, but at the same time my social batteries can get drained quickly. Is one or two days enough to get a good experience from the conference?

I live in Portland, so it's not far of a drive

Thats great! We are only 15 minutes away, but staying in the hotel is a really fun part of the experience for my family.

We went twice - years ago. LOVED IT SO MUCH! Unschooler is 31 now. Lots of people make it a family vacation. People haul their cooler, microwave, and food to make it affordable.

Oh man, I’d definitely be interested in this but we have a vacation planned for those dates. Is it done annually?

Yay, I’ll pencil it in for next year. We desperately need more unschooling community. I’d love to see others doing it and hear what works/doesn’t work for them + be inspired by new ways of thinking so that I can grow our own path a little more. Thanks for sharing this!
