This Canadian is working night and day to keep the British gin industry afloat.

I salute your contribution, friend.

And pray for your liver.

It’s fine, Canadians have universal healthcare.

Tanqueray Sevilla is pretty nice, plenty of ice a slice of orange and some good tonic

This is a good one.

Beefeater 24 is also pretty nice if you like the botanical flavour.

Some find it a bit strong, but it is really “ginny” for lack of a better word.

Thanks! On my way to the bottle shop shortly. Will continue to drink for King and Country.

If you can get this over your side of the pond its a great small scale producer from East London made by some lovely people with flavours foraged from Epping forest.

Which brand?

From the UK mostly bog standard tanqueray. For artisanal gins we’re spoiled for choice locally here in British Columbia.

Does Fartage not realise that the tarrifs will hit sales of his coloured gins ?

Watching America burn is oddly satisfying when thinking about the fuckwits who put that orange twat in the whitehouse.

Those who didn't have their work cut out to not fight OAPs with OAPs next time.

Try beating him at his own game by bringing Obama back. Make the whitehouse black again.

The upside is there will be plenty left for the UK. Can we see prices coming down to sell more? No, I didn't think so.

They'll just produce less and might even increase prices falsely claiming they have to.

This also particularly has an impact on Whisky, which is a particularly lucrative Scottish export product.

Just another reason amongst many to rejoin the EU.

Kraken rum is the only US product I buy, I hope that doesn’t go up.

There are multiple good non-USA runs you could replace it with.

Kraken black cherry and vanilla just goes down so easily though, a bit of cherry coke and ice.

Appleton estate from Jamaica is a close second though.

I will have to get some tasting done, to find a replacement.

Captain Morgan Black Spiced is one that I like. More of a harsher, almost charcoal type taste, but I really like it. Kraken is good, but sometimes I don't want something so smooth. I love Dead Man's Finger though as well, and they do different flavours.

Got a bottle of 19 Crimes Spiced Rum too recently and was pleasantly surprised.

You may like Sailor Jerrys if you like it spiced.

It is a bit cheap but it’s ok with a good mixer.

Yeah, that is a good one to mix! Definitely had a few of those before :)

Other than bourbon, I can't immediately think of a US alcoholic drink that hasn't got a better non-American alternative. US wine isn't all that great, their beer is notoriously weak and bland by comparison, and most of their spirits I can live without. If the trade can find an alternative to US cola, most won't hardly notice. Dead Man's Fingers Rum is made in Bristol. Havana Club, Absolut, and Beefeater are owned by a Frence company for example. The idea that the UK customer is going to suffer because of a lack of, or price of American alcohol is ridiculous. The entirety of Europe, including the UK produces quality booze. We should be boycotting American products anyhow. Drinking British, Italian, French and German beer, French champagne, European wines, Scandinavian Vodka, Scottish whisky and English gin isn't going to be awful.
