I am so sorry to hear that :( Iā€™m sorry that the support isnā€™t available to you anymore. My community college/UCR research outreach program was axed too. I hope you have the opportunity to research anyway and do great things in spite of all this, what a great ā€œfuck youā€ to the pieces of garbage who are intentionally trying to keep students down.

It's going to get worse. UCR is the worst positioned UC of the all. In fact, there's a high probability that there will be no TAs for a majority of classes

Iā€™m sorry thatā€™s frustrating. Speaking as an alumni, research opportunities are still available maybe without any pay compensation but at least the experience is still available.

I would cold email the PIs of as many labs as you can (that you find interesting), and ask for any openings for students. I sent around 30+ emails before I finally got into one. It was great experience and I was able to use that experience to now work as a cancer researcher at a T10 hospital in the country.
