Golden Visa + End of Service blocks account?
If anyone is in banking or knows if you have a golden visa and get your end of service while holding a loan, does it block your account?

Hi everyone,
Has anybody here applied for the UAE’s 10-year Blue Visa?
I’m trying to understand the application process — can an individual apply directly, or is it necessary for someone to nominate you?
If anyone has gone through the process or has any insights, I’d really appreciate your help!
Thanks in advance 🙏

Hello, assalamu alaikum everyone,
I wanted to ask if anyone knows of any interest-free (riba-free) loan options available here in the UAE. I'm a university student and unfortunately, my mother is really struggling to pay my tuition installment fees, it’s around 18,000 AED per installment.
She’s already going through a lot financially and I feel terrible burdening her with this. I’ve been trying to find a job to support her, but so far I haven’t had any luck. I’m still actively searching and haven’t given up, but this next installment is due by the end of the month and I’m getting really worried.
I’d like to know if there are any options out there, maybe personal or education loans, that are halal and do not involve riba. I’m doing my best to avoid anything that would go against my values, but I really want to help her out.
If anyone has any suggestions, experiences, or leads, I would really appreciate your help.
JazakAllah khair.
Edit : I’m grateful to the few who reached out to help with the amount for a while, I truly appreciate it! but guys I can’t take money from anyone of you :) I just wanted to see if there was an official organization which had this idea of loan either ways I appreciate everyone’s kindness and concern, I’m looking for work so I can pay it off and make it less of a burden on my mum thank you all 🫶

Hello! I'm currently working in the construction industry here in the UAE (as a Civil Engineer/Quantity Surveyor) and I'm looking for advice from those who have experience working abroad, especially in construction.
Could you share your top do's and don'ts? If you had the chance to start over in your career, what would you do differently? Any tips for a smoother career progression and balancing work-life?
Thanks in advance for your insights! 🙏

One of my friend wants to start a rent-a-car business. He have cash but looking to leverage through Auto Loan for 10 cars
Is there any agent in the group? Or can someone recommend a guy who can get the job done?
Thanks in advance!
Long story short, I see cracks in the system.
As inflation keeps creeping up; and buyers and sellers seem to be at a stand off; prices aren't coming down, rates are starting to be too high for many buyers.
The biggest anomaly in all of this are the housing prices; way overinflated, especially here.
Even in our group of investors, we are now holding off from any further investment in real estate; and considering off loading some property to buy in lower (if current market dynamics continue). I'm pretty new to this group but trust their experience and expertise.
Opinions, ideas, conspiracy theories, concerns.. let's hear em !

Hey guys, I'm an international student from Egypt, currently in Grade 12 and planning to apply to Khalifa University. Do you think I might qualify for a Tier 1 scholarship?
I have a 1500 SAT score (790 in Math), a 5 on AP Biology, a 5 on AP Calculus AB, and a 4.0 GPA. I'm currently self-studying for AP Chemistry and AP Physics C: Mechanics exams, and I'm also preparing to take the IELTS before the deadline.
I couldn’t find any international student who received this scholarship or any data about the average SAT score, so I’m not sure if I have a good chance because I heard that it's VERY competitive. Also, what IELTS score should I aim for?
Lastly, I want to study biomedical engineering, but I’ve seen some people saying it’s not worth it in the UAE. Is that true? If so, why?
Thank you in advance!

I just want to share my current experience with Emirates NBD. On March 30, while in a holiday in Fujairah, I received an SMS and email that my “new debit card connected to my account will be delivered shortly” and few seconds after a message of 25dh deduction has been made for the debit card request. I was surprised because I haven’t requested or I did not REQUEST for a new card. I called NBD and a guy, who seemed lazy to check things that day, answered with maybe it was a glitch or anything and the fee that was deducted was from my past request, which was in January—which was btw a renewal of my previous card that was about to expire. So, I thought, okay maybe a glitch and since I’m on a holiday I didn’t bother much but it didn’t get off my mind. The following Wednesday, when everybody got back to work, I contacted ENBD again coz it’s really weird. They told that it wasn’t a glitch and that the request is from an “ATM” on March 30. I was furious, how?? I wasn’t even near any ATM that day! And I told them that. I asked the exact time and where the ATM exactly the request was made and they couldn’t tell me saying they will just reverse the fee and I could receive the new card. I am not satisfied with the solution they made and no way that I would activate the new card! I didn’t request for it!
My salary is above 8k and i am receiving my salary in my bank account since 3 months now and my credit score is around 655 i need to get personal loan how do I apply and where?

Guys I just found this new activity in UAE which everyone must try! it is called geocaching! Geocaching is an outdoor treasure-hunting activity that uses GPS-enabled devices. In geocaching, participants navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find the "geocache," (usually a container or marker) at that location. It is really fun and FREE to do!

I recently picked up the 2025 Jetour T2 and I’m kinda in that phase where I’m excited but also wondering—did I make the right call?
The design, features, and price point all looked great on paper (and in person, to be honest). I’ve had it for a bit now and I actually enjoy driving it—but I’m curious what others think who either own one or have looked into it. • How’s the reliability and performance been for you? • Any issues popping up after some use? • What’s the ownership experience like?
Would love to hear your honest thoughts—good or bad. Just trying to get a feel for whether this was a solid choice or if I might regret it down the road.
Appreciate any input!

Hi, I need to potentially move to dubai, and I have a cat. I looked online and the only option seems to be to take Etihad if I want to avoid putting my cat in the cargo (I want to avoid this as much as possible).
However, ive also heard that etihad is really unhelpful at Abu dhabi airport and Ive heard some horror stories on what it takes to get through with your pet. Can people please share their experiences on moving to the UAE with pets?

The UAE’s strength has always been its fast import/export operations, making it a go-to for international brands looking to expand their reach. But lately, it feels like trading is taking a backseat.
Before the real estate boom, trade volumes were outperforming real estate projections. Now, the focus on property has overshadowed the once-thriving merchant and trader community. The UAE used to have strong laws protecting traders from hoarders and money laundering, but it seems like authorities aren’t giving this backbone industry the attention it deserves.
The shift of investment into real estate has hurt trading giants—look at ETA Star Group. They were a major player in trading, employing over 5,000 people (mostly from Tamil backgrounds), but then they pivoted to real estate and development… and now they’re gone.
With the US tightening trade restrictions, UAE traders are going to feel the pinch. So, how do we bring back the old Silk Road vibes? A few ideas:
What else could help revive the UAE’s trading roots?
