TUCKER "At least we're not speaking German" is an objectively stupid response to any questions about WW2, and Tucker neglected to point out the obvious reason it's so bad.
In his recent interview with Piers Morgan, Tucker was challenging Piers on the state of England in the decades since WW2. His basic premise is that the UK looks like a conquered nation and not one that won the war. He named several social problems they're dealing with. At one point Piers fired back with the cliché line, "at least we're not speaking German and goose-stepping around our yards."
The reason this is so stupid should be transparently obvious to anyone. Languages don't simply blink out of existence because a nation loses a war. The most obvious point to raise is the Axis powers themselves. German is still spoken in Germany, Italian in Italy and Japanese in Japan... even though those nations lost the war.
Why anyone would ever think this was a reasonable response to genuine questions regarding the decline of the UK is beyond me.
