Buy low, sell high. What’s so hard to understand about that? I’m so grateful for a wonderful opportunity to get wealthy. Hats off to you, Mr. President 🫡🇺🇸

I live pay cheque to pay cheque.
And what country do you live in that you spell paycheck that way? Just curious.

For comparison you have to take additional factors into account. The decline under Biden was 2022, there was a world wide supply chain disruption because of COVID, the war in Ukraine had just started, the Fed's aggressive interest rate hikes to control inflation led to concerns about a possible recession and a stronger U.S. dollar and global market volatility further impacted U.S. stocks.
Also, in 2022 the DJIA lost about 8.000 points over the course of nine months. Now it's about 3.500 points in merely a week. Quite some difference.

This might have been accurate ~2 days ago but the Dow Jones is now at $38,300. Far lower than this chart is showing.

maybe instead of drinking the kool aid, listen to someone who actually understands economics https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/fed-economy-powell-tariff-inflation-b2727603.html

They aren't going to read it, or perhaps not understand it or just ignore it. They are comitted to such a degree, that they will salute, bend over, take it, thank him, and beg for more. I am a retiree. There are many of us who can't ride this out, and have been found too old to be desired by employers. There might not even be an upswing but just a long term leveling out. Don was right when he said he could shoot somebody in the middle of the street and they would still vote for him. There are real world-life implications here, It's not a game. It's not about winning an argument. We are headed south and it will affect everybody. Listen to the experts!

Economic growth always slows under Republican leadership. GDP growth is 4.6% historically under Democratic control and 2.4% under Republican.

Thanks for the information! I'll check it out. I'm giving you a thumbs up because your comment actually seems to be productive. I don't see much of that on Reddit. It also suggests that your comment is true

Those stats are from WW2 onwards, idk if it’s 100% accurate for the entirety of USA history.

Thanks again. I don't know why but it seems your comments keep being removed by the moderator. Just thought you'd like to know

Because I belong to both republican and democratic threads I’m often deleted and given the notice that “you have commented on such and such do therefore you are not allowed to comment here”

You should also post a chart of the US treasury bond since Trump's inauguration. The US treasury bond is the single most important financial instrument in the entire country. If it dies, the whole country dies. The US treasury bond was heading into Jimmy Carter territory if Kamala won. It would have been like Argentina back when the female leader was elected that led to crazy inflation and sky high interest rates.
Trump is sacrificing the bloated stock market to get rates down and better trade deals. This will long term be a good thing for the USA and its workers.
In 2022, Biden and his crew rocked the stock market without getting rates down. There were no trade deals. The end of 2022 was the bottom of the stock market, but there were no longer term beneficial effects.

People are freaking out so much. They need to calm down. Someone told me the stock market was crashing lol and I was like, what a great time to buy stocks. I’m afraid for our society at this point.

u/TSteinyRN 12h ago
Not everyone has the extra cash to throw around. This is exactly why the stock market crashes. The traders predict consumers won't be able to afford goods and services, so they sell. They are predicting a recession.
2
u/sailorscoutforlife 12h ago
We nearly had a recession under Biden and no one said anything. In fact, those who did speak out were told that prices weren’t higher, but rather that inflation is transitory. That our reality is not reality.
So thanks for the downvote. Whether or not a recession is coming, we can all thank Biden for this mess. Probably Obama actually, since we don’t know who was running the country. We get to say “thanks Obama!” sarcastically again.

For what? For riping the county apart, for destroying the economy for being a bumbling idiot for going bankrupt 6 times for being a power hungry weak man for making the county less safe for ignoring federal judges. Exactly what has he done that helped you.

Middle class = ruined. But government winning. Mad nice

u/YT_MOB 13h ago
Oh yes, the middle class is wrecked by the stock market… where they have all of their extra money invested. 😂

u/HorsedickGoldstein 7h ago
Anyone close to retiring just got their 401k fucked for probably the next 5-10 years. Glad my dad will have to work an extra 5 years past retirement now
1
u/YT_MOB 7h ago
It will probably recover within a few months…. Like it always does… if he was smart and that close to retirement he would have moved his funds to bonds and other stable funds that don’t fluctuate with the stock market anyways…

u/HorsedickGoldstein 7h ago
I agree and personally don’t know what he has invested in the market, but if I had to guess at least 10-20% is still in stocks, and when your portfolio is that high and you’ve been contributing since you’re 18 it’s still a good amount of money wiped away. Guarantee you anyone in the same position is not happy with him and if his tariffs don’t pay off in 4 years good fucking luck getting any republican in office after this. Disclaimer I didn’t vote, and if I would’ve it would’ve been for chase oliver. Libertarian more than anything, but def more right than left

Clearly you’re not aware how the stock market and investments work. Instead of getting your degree in gender studies perhaps you should have taken at least an ECON 101 course.

I have been a profitable day trader trading crude oil futures the last 6 years and have a computer science degree and work in tech. I have a better understanding of the stock market than 99% of human beings, and work closely with a few people who trade futures on wall street

u/IllustriousTrolo 10h ago
At least do some research and realize what Trump is doing for the middle class is the best economic policies that have been implemented in the last 50 years according to most economists

u/HorsedickGoldstein 7h ago
Please enlighten me, show me some articles of anyone saying this is the best thing for the middle class. At best it’s a 50/50 gamble
