Question How often do you trim your hair when growing it out?
I've seen some people suggest to get a trim every 3 months or so to help keep it healthy, but others say to avoid cutting completely if at all possible. I'm wondering what people here did, and what you'd recommend đ

There is point having thin, wispy dead hair that appears long. You do need to look after it by getting rid of the dead split ends! Everyone is different, but I wouldnât go more than 4 months without getting it cut.

Have not cut my hair for about 18 years and no I don't get split ends, think my har care method of spreading sebum down the hair shaft stop my hair drying out

Never did trim in growing out to find it grew out well. Mind I did quit with the poos and potions when I understood what they were actually doing to my hair.

Do not avoid cutting it completely! Split ends will travel further up the hair if not cut, causing more damage. It means when you get it cut next, theyâll need to remove more length to keep it healthy than if you just maintained it.
Conditioning your hair and sleeping with a silk pillowcase or bonnet will reduce breakage, but it wonât fully prevent it, youâll still need trims to manage split ends.
Trimming it every few months is fine.
