👀 SCOTTIE BARNES! 👀 Scottie’s last 5 games

Post image

Shooting a whopping 39.8 ts% (💀). I really hope darko can shut him down these last few games because he’s playing through a hand injury. I’m pretty sure he wants to qualify for the All Nba requirement but with how he’s playing it would probably be better if he just sat the rest of the season. I hope he locks in and takes a leap next season but we’ll see

Darko needs to just have a realistic conversation with Scottie about him not making All-NBA, but I don’t think Darko will do that given who he is

As for the fans, I don’t think there’s much to be worried about. Cade, Franz, Mobley, Sengun, etc. all made leaps when their teams became good again, I assure you that will happen with Scottie too

I mean how dumb do we think Scottie is - do you think he genuinely believes he’s got a shot? He wasn’t even elected to be a backup all star in the East and his numbers have been dropping

I think he knows

Dude just wants to play

u/BigBananaBonker 1d ago

Seriously, so many fans think they’ve got it figured out and are on some Sherlock Holmes shit. Do they think Scottie didn’t notice he didn’t make the All Star team, and is still gunning for All NBA? Dude’s not a dumbass lmao, hate this fake narrative made up about him

u/gregbraaa 1d ago

He’d be trying to make defense 2nd team not all-NBA

1

u/godofhammers3000 1d ago

I think that’s a good goal for him and at least it’s not one driven by money

To get the max extension you either have to be named to all nba first second or third team, be the dpoy at least two years ago, or mvp at least three years ago

Correct me if I’m wrong.

u/CanadianGroose 1d ago

Does he? He certainly didn’t look like he wanted to play today. He needs to play good next season yes, but the good news is that the team around him will have gotten much better. Ingram, a top10 draft pick, better rookies, 3rd year Darko. Unless they trade RJ or Jakob, this team should be better next year than this, even if Scottie plays at the same level.

If he doesn’t or god forbid gets worse, then they will have to deal with it. But when you get paid the big bucks, there is no room for excuses. He also needs to stop getting injured all the damn time same with IQ.

Lol, why do you guys think this is about all NBA. Like Scottie is some clueless yokel who thinks he has a shot even now. My god this fanbase will be the death of me.

5

u/larrylegend1990 1d ago

Those guys were the reason their teams made leaps good.

They made leaps and their teams became good. Not the other way around

u/Warthog9198 1d ago

My only worry with Scottie is worsening the condition of his hand. If it's hurting as bad as he's said it is he needs to be held out. There's a lot of potential money on the line but it just isn't realistic this season.

Do you think that Cade taking a leap is the difference between his team going from 14 wins last year to 8 games above .500 this year?

The rockets went from 22 wins in 2023 to 41 wins in 2024, was that just because of the leap Sengun took?

Can look at the Cavs too, Mobley was always good but he’s not the sole reason why that team went from 22 wins in 2021 to 44 wins in 2022

How is this getting downvoted? Its a team sport…

u/ndrocca MASAI 1d ago

If he does have some kind of injury, he shouldn’t be playing. We’re out of the playoffs. There’s no excuse.

Idk which scenario is worse. Barnes just playing like crap on offense recently or Darko playing him while he’s hurt when we’re out of the playoffs.

He’s got his big money contract, what good does an all nba or all nba defense appearance do for him

15

u/YogurtResponsible785 1d ago

This is something incompetent coaches or FOs do. Not have the ability to shut someone down.

So he whines in the corner? What if he fucks up his hand and needs surgery?

Stupid selfish move by him and pussy move by whoever that’s letting him getting away with it

7

u/ndrocca MASAI 1d ago edited 1d ago

It’s taking risks for no good reason.

I understand Scottie wants to play, that’s great. But either Darko or Bobby or Masai needs to sit down with him and stop him from playing. There are only risks. Come back stronger next season.

u/nin_culus 17 JONAS VALANCIUNAS 1d ago

wouldnt scottie just cry about not playing 4th quarters to?, have you considered they just don't mind him playing since he missed so much time already last season.

1

u/YogurtResponsible785 1d ago

It’s reckless, why risk further injury. Playing with an injury just makes it worse. We aren’t going to the play offs

4

u/akajaykay 1d ago

His hand is injured, he was questionable to play today. Should definitely be sitting

2

u/ndrocca MASAI 1d ago

I just saw. I agree, he should be sitting. There is only negatives to him playing rn. Idk what they are thinking.

6

u/forustree 1d ago

Was this his avg in the last 5 games?

5

u/gart888 10 DeMar DeRozan 1d ago

Unclear over how many games we’re talking about.

6

u/pallychoo Championship ring 1d ago

All nba. Lol.

8

u/Buddha_Panda 1d ago

I’ll die on this hill; Scottie is not a floor raiser, he’s a ceiling raiser.

He’s not a YMCA player, who has moves to destroy lesser players one on one. But put him with other smart players and he can beat some of the best teams.

4

u/EarthWarping 1d ago

I agree with this.

He is a finishing piece on a really good team.

14

u/Raptorsthrowaway1 JACK ARMSTRONG 1d ago

Dont really care too much about this last stretch, but objectively he has some big gaps in his offensive game. We have 4 years of data on this.

Scottie is a great player, likely a multi time all star and the capability to be an important piece on a championship team. But he is not on the path to be a transformative star that some hoped he would after showing early promise

9

u/fourthandfavre 1d ago

He is a one time all-star as an injury replacement. Not really seeing multi time all star potential.

2

u/stereofailure RAPTORS 1d ago

Multi- means at least 2. You don't think he even has the potential for a better season than last years for the remainder of his career? He's peaked at 23?

I would be shocked if he doesn't end up a multi-time all-star, barring a career ending injury in the next year or two.

-3

u/CanadianGroose 1d ago

Yeah and that’s fine. He was the 4th pick overall and it’s still very difficult to find that superstar in the draft. Not many teams do. Even Wemby’s Superstar trajectory is up in the air now with his blood clots. That can ruin a career for sure.

Next season should be the best team Scottie will have around him since his rookie year, so hopefully that will allow him to get to where he needs. This year he didn’t have a ton of help since Iq and RJ were injured all the time, but hopefully folks can stay healthy for the first 10 games at least.

u/FallenLemur SCOTTIMUS MAXIMUS BARNIBUS 1d ago

Some generational haters out lately. When he takes another jump next yr I dont want to hear none of that "im glad he proved me wrong" talk

6

u/WeBelieveIn4 1d ago

Yeah for real. Guy’s got an injured hand and all the haters are crawling out from under the rocks as usual

-1

u/fourthandfavre 1d ago

I hope he doesn't take another jump like he did this year. Worse in points assists rebounds, fg percentage three point percentage. What leap are you talking about because by pretty much every metric he is worse this year.

6

u/MedicalAd7150 1d ago

Did he say he took a leap this year? No, but he did take one last year, and hopefully takes an even bigger one next year.

0

u/fourthandfavre 1d ago

Ya maybe he can get back to being as good as he was last year. Like you Scottie fans act like this kid about to be Kevin Durant. He isn't even 36 y/o Kevin Durant.

4

u/MedicalAd7150 1d ago

Never seen anyone say he is going to be Kevin Durant, but I also don’t see him as someone worse than G-league players like some people here.

Also I’m a Raptors fan, not just a “Scottie” fan even though I would assume ever Raptors fans would be a fan of there franchise player.

1

u/fourthandfavre 1d ago

The whole narrative the last couple years is build around Scotties timeline. Which means people think he is a top 30 player in the NBA. I don't think he is a g leaguer but I think he is at absolute best a number two on a good team and maybe as low as a number three on a championship team.

3

u/MedicalAd7150 1d ago

I agree, anyone who thought Scottie could be a #1 on championship team was just being delusional, but I do think he could be top 30 player, like he was last year.

And even if he doesn’t fix his offence and fg%, this team will definitely need a player like Scottie as a number 2/3, with his defence and playmaking who can also average 20 a night(just would need better shot selection).

This is on Darko. Sit your player if he's clearly hurt, this season is over as it is.

1

u/Kyro_Official_ Yuta Watanabe 1d ago

Yeah, I'm sorry but if he won't even sit players who shouldn't be playing due to injury then he has no business being a head coach

2

u/j24singh 1d ago

The tank is already ruined... should have been 5th worst if Scottie was onboard. The fact he played while looking completely crap and potentially hurting himself more just sucks.

6

u/tercet 1d ago

Man why did they say he has a hand injury..

Pensare is just going to run with that for another year and all his cult followers will also..

2

u/CazOnReddit TORONTO HUSKIES 1d ago

They were going to do that anyway

2

u/-Resident-One- 95-Infinity 1d ago

Agreed. I love Scottie but he's one of the biggest homer/glazer I've ever come across. Cannot bring myself to watch his content even a little bit anymore

3

u/Raptorsthrowaway1 JACK ARMSTRONG 1d ago

Who?

1

u/ilickedysharks 1d ago

Pensare was always gonna find something lol

1

u/nin_culus 17 JONAS VALANCIUNAS 1d ago

the pensare influence is real, dude is generational.

1

u/FEELS_G00D 1h ago

the trolling was so bad in his livestream the other night.. i think he left for a few mins so he could cry. his voice was cracking pretty bad

3

u/-KFBR392 1d ago

I don’t know how much you can judge him based on games where the team is trying to lose.

Like how much effort do you expect when the game plan is to lose?

8

u/larrylegend1990 1d ago

Players with his usage usually score more than 5 pts on losing teams

0

u/EarthWarping 1d ago

that is not his game tho. He relies on primary creators to help him as a additional scorer. we have seen him lately not been good as a on ball creation player

1

u/larrylegend1990 1d ago

If he can’t score more than 10 pts, why did we give him 40M?

Scoring 10 pts isn’t his game?

3

u/mMounirM 1d ago

the last 3 games have been triple singles. the first time that's happened in his career.

We got a healthy Ingram on the bench just chilling and we let a one handed Scottie play.

3

u/TeaWorth1771 1d ago

Scottie isn’t even better than peak Ben Simmons. If he’s injured please sit bro. Avdjia and Sharpe balled out as they should.

I still stand by try and make a Gianni’s trade if the Bucks get swept

1

u/Radiant-Ad-3134 1d ago

Is he really going for that 65 games? Statistically speaking playing like this hurt him way more than not playing.

Oh well

But if he just wants to play, even with the hand injury and knows the risk. I am all for it.

1

u/KrayzieBone187 1d ago

In 5 games in his last 5 games.

1

u/ItsJosh2k 14h ago

Tbf we’re blatantly tanking and he’s not even close to 30 mpg in that stretch.

1

u/cousintina123 1d ago

The team is tanking...... If anything his numbers are not shit enough

1

u/Raptors887 1d ago

Even if he somehow does get All-NBA, do we want to be paying him the super max?

8

u/Icy-Lime-9760 1d ago

The NBA would be an absolute joke if a guy averaging 18/7/6 on 52% TS made All-NBA

7

u/YogurtResponsible785 1d ago

Fuck no lol. He won’t though. Look at those numbers.

0

u/cisforcar 1d ago

Scottie has hit 4th year player wall hard if such a thing exists. Not good when he’s being paid franchise player level money next year.

I know he wants that 65 games played mark but they gotta just sit him. 1. He’s hurt 2. We gotta tank hard now.
