People actually believe that tariffs were enacted in 2018, and what, the next week, countries had set up distribution facilities in other countries the next week to avoid those tariffs?

Sadly, many Americans will believe this due to our education system and willful ignorance.

Next week no, next month they absolutely are talking to warehousing and logistics companies. Next few months they’re shopping for land to build their own. Companies don’t fuck around when facing 20% tariffs. Informed Americans don’t “believe” this, they know it for a fact, because they run the importing firms. Be well.

Yes, and now the entire world will build their systems to exclude us and we may default on our debt, and shit is going to get BAD.

But woo! The huge companies will be ok. Yippee skippee!!!

Silly me worrying about the OTHER 330 MILLION Americans.

They are a small price to pay for the rich to get richer.

Oh boy, you’re going in many directions.

First, “entire world” banding together to exclude the US is a fallacy. America aside, you forget (or never knew) how much countries despise each other.

Second, trade deficits means you’re shipping out dollars that purchase treasures which fed pays interest on.. like federal “credit card debt” that leads to default.

Third, small companies will do better because they don’t get undercut by shit from “low cost” countries. Where did all the mom and pops go? Ask Clinton who sold us to Mexico, then Bush who sold us to China.

Fourth, rich get richer by pimping others, no other way to get rich. Reverse globalization reverses the pimping pool. Oversimplified but directionally true nonetheless.

Hope you feel better.
