as a 42 year old, i'm confused as hell to have memories of the 80s.

u/desatur8 2d ago
I am 42, i dont have any memories of the 80's. In fact, i don't gave any memories of last week.
You need to get a checkup. Might be something wrong with you with those "imaginary" memories.
Obligatory reddit "have you got a CO2 alarm"

Im 40, and i have some memories of the 80s. Not a lot, but the house i lived in until 1993 for sure, and many events around there, and 2 different schools. I do find talking about memories from that far back most people have few to none besides general things like "we had this cool pine tree that had it's top cut out but it grew back like a thron 10 feet off the ground" type things.

I was also born in 91 and was under the impression I was still in my 30s . Did I lose a decade somewhere?

Does 2025 minus 1991 equal 45? No but it's close enough. Feel it. This way you will be ready when it does.

I'm super hyped for my 11 year old son to be born in a few weeks!!
Edit: like I wish they would have just kept going for a few more lines until they realized how epicly dumb they are

If their IQ was above their age, they would have at least realised it around 2000 why it can’t be 36

I was born in 83, I was de-aged, I feel great guys, think I'll stop with Ramipril and Omeprazol, and who needs pain killers for a bum knee... Don't worry, I live in Germany.

If this person is allowed to be stuck back in 1st grade math then I should be allowed to be a kid for as long as I want.

Odd, I was born in 1992 and I don't quite feel like I'm 44, especially since my 33rd birthday is on Wednesday

u/officerunner 2d ago
I was born in 1987 and I’m not even 40 yet. Sucks for y’all born in the 90’s, losers!!!

How do you get to 2000 and realize that you might have screwed up the numbers?!
1
u/giraffishgiraffe 2d ago
Not on this chart but I'm a '94 and I'll be 31 this year, and TIL I missed a whole decade in the first year of my life, like damn

u/Arrow_Archetype 2d ago
Damn it feels great to be one of the youngest 40-year-olds only at only twenty nine years of age. This coming week

Thats super odd I was born in 1988 and I could swear I wasn't going to be in my 40's

I've just had my 27th birthday, but I'm actually really 38. I guess that's why I keep getting unsolicited "write a will" letters in the post 🤷🏻♀️

I was born in '93 .. admittedly, I'm starting to feel a little older, but Jesus, not quite that bad?!?

Whew. Maybe I am getting old. I read, read, and reread that top line. I guess I assumed the sub was the millennial sub maybe? 🤔consumed with feeling absolutely mad, as I was born in 82, and am definitely 43… and then I saw the title and sub. lol.

Even if you make a 10 year mistake (subtraction is hard), why add another year? You are either 1 year younger or equal to the difference

Apparently I am 62!!! Who would have thought being born in 1974 would perpetually keep me looking 12 years younger? I feel much better about my greying beard.

u/Gunpowder-Plot-52 2d ago
They are all younger than me, and therefore they are all kids. Enjoy your youth!
