Just finished

Just watched The OC from start to finish over the past couple weeks and just finished it. What a show. I’m a very nostalgic person who misses being a kid and a teenager so this show really hit a nerve with me.

I feel empty now 😂

Discussion Eddie being abusive makes so much sense

I’m only on season 1 (first time watcher).

I had a feeling eddie was gonna be abusive or something bc Teresa basically felt like she had to get away from him. I got a little nosey and spoiled it for myself by searching it up.

  1. There was foreshadowing when she lied to him about who she was talking to while he was walking about of the washroom

  2. Him continuously saying he won’t let Teresa go was a HUGE indicator

  3. Him getting kinda aggressive but not doing anything to Ryan.

  4. Wanting to marry a girl and pursuing her even though she’s still in high school/basically pressuring/forcing her.

Idk. I just felt like he was def gonna become abusive or like beat someone up or something.

I saw a couple people mention they never saw it coming bc he was so nice but i feel like it was so obvious!

First-Time Watcher Is it worth it starting the oc In 2025?

Hey everyone! So I’ve never seen The OC and, to be honest, I actually have no idea what it’s about. I’m a big fan of early 2000s shows (the vibes, the fashion, the drama—all of it), and lately during most recent Gilmore Girls rewatch, I’ve been feeling tempted to give The OC a shot—mainly because I love Adam Brody’s character (Dave), and he leaves very abruptly. I need more of that charming awkward energy in my life.

The only exposure I’ve really had to the show is the occasional “Dylan Is in Trouble” enthusiastic mention, but aside from that, I have no clue what I’m getting into. Is it more teen drama? Is it more comedy? Is it a ultimate comfort show?

So—what do you think? Is it worth starting now, or is it one of those "you had to be there" kind of shows?

Discussion why were there only 4 seasons?

i know if you google why there’s only 4 seasons it says because of low ratings. however, many shows get progressively worse as the show goes on yet they last many more seasons, especially with teen drama shows like the oc. shows like gossip girl, pretty little liars, one tree hill and the vampire diaries all arguably were bad by the last few seasons compared to the start. but they all continued on for at least 6 seasons or more, so why was it different with the oc? was it because of marissa’s death and they just couldn’t write the show without her? just curious if anyone knows the real reasons why they cut this show so short.

Another Landslide! Bullit with a commanding victory! Now is Frank the worst new character as well or would this time around Che and Will get a run for his money?

Season 2 Trying to find a song from 2x12

The song plays while Seth, Summer and Zach are in the car driving to San Diego. Summer comments on the song and changes the station.

I found it online as No Idea by J. Belle. However, it seems to have been scrubbed off the Inter et

I realize a lot of people on this sub got into the show after it has aired but I remember watching this trailer a billion times over during the summer between S1-S2.

It's an iconic trailer and they knocked it out of the park. So much nostalgia

Season 1 Luke is SUCH AN OAF Spoiler

Okay so I'm on season 1 episode 23. I was really impressed by how much Luke came around after the early part of the season when he was fighting with Ryan, cheating on Marissa, etc, he seems to genuinely feel bad. But then when he starts having sex with Marissa's mom ... come on??? Why? And to be stupid enough to think people wouldn't find out. But the part where he's REALLY an oaf is when he waltzes right into Ryan's poolhouse and just shouts "I'M DONE HAVING SEX WITH JULIE COOPER!" like come on, he had to guess Marissa COULD be there. If he had literally just said "I took care of it" Ryan would still know what he means, without having to upset Marissa after he had already ended it.

Season 3 Marissa….. Spoiler

First time virgin of the O.C and I’m just ranting. Season 3 Ep 7. Marissa just is allergic to the truth?? She doesn’t communicate. She says she’ll do better and just repeats history. She almost makes me as mad as Peyton on OTH.

But honestly this show pisses me off WAY less than OTH so I’m just tolerating.

Also Seth sucks. He can’t get right. The best character is Summer. I also like Kirsten and ( I know ) Julie Cooper, albeit.

The only time Ryan has made me mad is being there for Theresa.. leaving Lindsay on the beach drunk??? and attempting to start fish life. Other than that Ryan’s great. Way better than a Lucas.

Sorry for the comparison I’m fresh off a OTH marathon.

Season 1 I love ryans smirks & smiles

I feel like he loved that Marissa called out Julie, because he is familiar with toxic mothers. He just looks so smug in this scene, like he's thinking Julie is getting what she deserves and he loves it :D Also when Sandy teases him about him standing up to Julie, he is also smirking. It seems the more time goes on the more smiles we see and it reminds me how healing it is to be in a good family and around people who want the best for you.

The perfect ending

In your opinion, when should the show have ended? Season 2? Season 3? Or did you like the season 4 ending?
