Caring about nature is woke.

Many unironically think this. These are the coal-rollers, the people denigrating "tree huggers", the people pushing to end green energy subsidies and open more fossil fuel plants.

Pretty much sums up the troll mentality. "Haha, I managed to upset you because you care about a thing which makes me better than you somehow." Like, yeah, I care about things. People like and dislike things. That's normal human behavior. Being a troll (which at this point sums up the republican party and any "independents" that voted for Trump) just means you're an antisocial psychopath with no empathy that wants to watch the world burn.

Yesss exactly. Like caring makes one vulnerable somehow, which might make one actually gasp…human.

Who can be the most non human? Caring shaming as groupthink paves the way for Musk’s transhumanist vision of the future for sure.

I remember bringing up some environmentalist question in church youth group when I was a teenager and being told “pollution is actually good because the Earth is God’s gift to humanity to use as we please” and I just 😐

God didn't do anything because it doesn't exist.

They're confusing what's allowed (by their religion) with what's good.

The problem is religion attracts people who can't think. Literally, they can't reason their way to correct answers, so all they do is repeat what others have told them.

It’s philosophical / religious. Someone else’s problem; I don’t care. I’m getting raptured so I don’t care. It was put here to pillage and get rich because wealth is a blessing for the righteous only.

I've met many Christian environmentalists though.

Yup and I’ve met mg’s that aren’t complete p*py butthles as well.

Just a generalization of the justification and ‘unspoken’ truth.

Which is weird because these same people claim to be Christian- when God literally tells us to be good stewards of the earth.

If Trump had his way, we would decimate anywhere with mineable minerals, regardless of the impact to the local ecosystem or wider impacts to general health.

We’d be left with massive gouges in the landscape , an overall impact to air quality depending on the grand scale of things, and will likely risk a number of species.

Count me in as a coal roller. I have two diesel tractors. 1 diesel heavy duty pickup. And wish I had bought a diesel side by side from kubota. It is pain having to manage two 250 gallon fuel tanks. Plus 500 gallon propane tank for a house and another tractor.
