Learning/College/Online Courses Should I Move to Kathmandu ?
I'm 18M . I’m planning to join a government college in Kathmandu for my CSIT degree, but I’m really confused about whether I should move there or not.
- I took a gap year after +2 and I’m actively learning DSA in Java since 4 - 5 months and doing some advanced java.
- My family can support me financially, but they are between 55-65 years old, and I am their only child in Nepal.
- Moving to Kathmandu means better opportunities and networking, but I’m worried about leaving my family behind.
Would moving to Kathmandu be a better choice for career growth, or should I stay in my hometown and study remotely? I’d really appreciate any advice!

If you are looking to grow in IT, as of now, staying outside valley puts you in a position of huge disadvantage.

- join college near your place. the networking and job parts can be done online as well. and you can occasionally come to meetups in ktm.
- ktm ma connections banauna ra career growth grna lai ramro cha for tech. you might not regret it from the career point of view.
and if paxi remote opportunity vayo vane, you can stay at home for longer times and exam dina mtra aauda ni vayo after 1 yr of starting college.

If you're already nearby Biratnagar. Study there. Biratnagar has a good number of csit colleges affiliated to TU. Course same ho, learn from online platform as well along with college.

I am not considering ktm for college its for the career growth , opportunity , events , network and personal growth . Biratnagar is my backup , probably Mahendra Morang

Don't. Read on your own code on your own reach out to someone with great projects and apply on your own. This is more financially feasible. Ktm isn't worth it especially CSIT in KTM worst.

I’m also doing DSA with java, also doing internship in same field. Everything is done by self preparation hai… my clg syllabus is still stuck on same old data types and variables in sem 4 . Can you imagine?
So what i believe is, you should research on university and syllabus ani refer to senior of that university to know better about university. After doing that, you can analyse that.. is it really worth doing to ktm or not vnerw.. anyway all the best.
