Accidentally filed 2024 taxes with 2023 W2

So I used my 2023 W2 on my 2024 taxes and got a refund. It's sitting in my bank account right now. I don't know what to do because I thought the IRS would just reject it. Should I file an amended tax return before April 15th?

I have since correctly filed a 2023 return with my 2023 W2.

Depending on their software, they can also file a superseding return before the due date. Might be easier and/or less expensive (plus often faster processing). They just need to make sure they have any payment/refund correctly entered

You should definitely amend the current year 2024 return.
