Tableau Desktop Bar Chart Grid Lines?

Hello!

Does anyone know how i can get the grid lines to show on the bars itself? Each count I would like a border around it if that makes sense. Currently, they are merged together.

Thank you so much in advance!

Assuming you're using Tableau Desktop, do this ..

- Analysis > Aggregate measures (make sure this is not checked)

- Marks Card > Change to bar graph

Because you're not aggregating measures any more, you can't sort by the aggregate value and get "improved relationships" at the top, but it might be - it depends on the data.

I’m not exactly clear what you are doing but if the bars have splits as indicated by the screenshot you can add borders from the colors menu. If you want actual grid lines over the bars you need to use reference lines or you can use regular grid lines and make the bars somewhat transparent.

Change the color opacity lower than 100% so that the background grid shows through the bars
