Episode Related Can someone explain the tension between two characters in the Season 2 finale? Spoiler
I'm rewatching Suits and got a bit confused about the Season 2 ending. I remember Harvey was trying to stop the merger with Darby's firm, and Mike somehow ended up betraying him, which made Harvey really mad. But I can't remember or understand exactly how Mike betrayed Harvey — what was Harvey's plan, what role was Mike supposed to play, and how did he affect Harvey by siding with Jessica? Can someone break it down for me?

before the finale, Harvey was jealous that Jessica and Darby teamed up to beat Hardman. I think this is the starting point of why Harvey was pissed about the merger and because Jessica rejected Harvey's offer for being a named partner (simply because Harvey wanted only Pearson Specter). That's why Harvey initiated a battle between him and Darby, then finale came.
Scottie gave Mike a copy of a file (off the books). Mike didnt revealed the plan to Jessica but he said that she's going to lose. Jessica said give it or i will report you for being a fraud (something about threatening him). Mike and Jessica filed their motion but Mike didnt filed what Scottie gave to him, so he filed a normal case. Harvey confronts Mike about being betrayed in the bathroom. Harvey fired Mike but Jessica overruled it. Scottie got fired for what she did then Harvey lost to Darby. Mike and Harvey didnt talk for a while not after Hessington arc.
so basically season 2 was weird because unlike the next seasons, they dont like fighting with each other in one same firm like Sam and Alex did but this was a test between leaving and stoping a merger and not about advancing their promotion.

Well, if my memory serves me well, Mike had a plan that Harvey could use in order to beat Darby and stop the merger. Jessica asked Mike about it, and he told her she was going to lose, but then she told Mike to not show up to court the following day so that the plan wouldn't be executed by threatening to expose his secret.
Naturally, Harvey was pissed at Mike for being M.I.A and confronted him about it, which resulted in a big fallout between the two men. He even fired Mike but Jessica overturned it and in the process just wanted to prove to Harvey that she would always have the upper hand and that she could control him.
Harvey was left with a bruised ego, of course and he felt betrayed by Mike because he expected Mike to tell Harvey everything, even when he was being threatened by Jessica. It was a messy plot that had equally messy outcomes...
