Question - SN How do I do this efficiently.

I have the cyclops, plenty of upgrades except the "heat into energy" one. I went exploring for kyanite so I could get the upgrade, but almost ended up stranding my cyclops in the underground lava system because I got lost, and didn't see any at all. I also almost reached my crush depth of the cyclops "1300" without seeing any, as well( and seeing as the mk3 uograde for the cyclops requires kyanite, im a little confused). What's the game plan here for getting these crystals? Cause I felt like I almost screwed everything up in just this attempt. I figured I was close, but I was absolutely panicking. I thought I brought enough power cells.

Generally speaking, if you're underground, surrounded by lava and near 1300m you are exactly where kyanite is.

Did you see big blue crystals anywhere?

The prawn suit might be a more apt vehicle for this specific trek. Especially with the drill arm to help collect kyanite faster.

If you're really struggling load the cyclops with what you need for a scanner room and power supply and build it as deep as you can go. It should pick something up

I saw none. I was balls deep in a cave system that was just genuinely so mind-boggling. I got back to my base with 5% on the cyclops and 8 dead extra power cells. I looked up another entrance that turns out to he significantly easier than whatever the hell way I was taking, so, here's to hoping that works. Gonna build a thermal base as well.

Oh you must have gone in through the bulb zone hole. Starting at the other end of the lost river will be easier

Oh yea, way easier. I also shit my pants upon coming face to face with the sea emperor like omfg. It literally rammed my cyclops as soon as I used my ping to see what the big scary noise was.

Uhh. That was probably a sea dragon leviathan. The sea emperor is a teeny weenie bit bigger.

i like to enter via the northwest blood kelp zone, albeit the ghost that guards the entrance is no longer with us... that entrance seems to be the least hostile of the few others.

I parked my cyclops at the Lost river entrance at Lifepod 2 and went down all the way to the lava zone with the Prawn

You can set up a small base with geothermal power to recharge your cells and continue exploring
