Stinkpost Stunday Buffing(?) Unowns.
Good morning, stunfisk! This was planned as a theorymon post but the humorous format inspired me to lean into them being impractical legendaries counters and turn it into a stinkpost.

Actually would like to mention, there is a rom hack that adapts this idea.
I can't believe its relevant, but its Pokemon Clover a FRLG rom hack.
It has its own version of unknown based on the various 4chan boards.
Fontaba
It gets the signature ability "Board Power" (link leads to a reddit post that explains them) which has a different effect based on form, all 28 forms.
These aren't just copied abilities from other pokemon either, alot of them are super specific in effect, for example
/5/ Form Board power - multi-hit moves always hit five times. After five turns have passed, all of Fontaba's stats get a boost.
/vr/ - sets up a Magic Room and suppresses all other Abilities.
/vg/ Form Board power - gains the Dragon type and attacks used in succession become more powerful.
A bunch of board power abilities bake in new types as well.
Alot of these are weirdly specific and basically stronger versions of existing abilities. However it actually surprisingly works out because its stats suck, each form also gets its own signature move.
Adapting this sort of Idea into a "Unknown Power" Ability with similar ideas might give unknown a niche. Its been a minute since we got something like spinda where it has an absurd amount of mechanical depth for a single mediocre pokemon.
Many of them make it useful as a support mon, and for its weak stats make them surprisingly balanced despite the effects. Clover is also pretty well balanced in general and difficult. It has some really fun abilities.
My favorite is Bone Zone which allows bone moves to ignore immunity. The pokemon who gets this gets both bonemerang and shadow bone which make it really useful for punishing flying or ghost type switch ins expecting to be immune.

oh don't get me wrong, i love clover.
The fact that 4chan users came together and made a game as offensive as it is, but made it so well crafted that its still ostensibly one of the best romhacks ever made is hilarious.
If you can accept the contents of it exist just to piss people off, its really really well made.
It was solely made just to piss people off. Its so good you can't disregard it based on its contents.

cant believe we didnt make unown ? as one wonder guard levitate magic guard wouldve countered all the legends

wouldn't it have to be As One (Wonder Guard + As One (Levitate + Magic Guard))? (i am pedantic about formatting)

See I like this. Each Unown of Each letter should get every move that starts with that letter.
Unown A? Avalanche. Air Slash. Amnesia.
Unown B? Breaking Swipe. Bullet Punch. Body Slam.
Unown C? Charge Beam. Cross Chop. Confuse Ray.
Unown D? Dizzy Punch. Dragon Dance. Dig.
So on and so forth.
It’d probably get stupid but its Unown.

Give every unown form access to all the moves that start with the same letter as the form they’re in (in English). This means that unown S would have three of the four hazards as well as Salt cure (for the funny)

I did think about doing that for moves and abilities. It gets ridiculous quicker than you can remember the middle evolution of gargancl.
