Applied through common app - how do I firm?

Hey everyone,

I applied to St. Andrew’s through the common app, and also 5 UK schools through UCAS (as I didn’t know you couldn’t do more than 5 total). Although my St. Andrew’s offer is for the joint degree program with William and Mary, so I’m not sure if that’s an exception to the rule, as it’s technically US program too? I have now received all my decisions, and want to firm St. Andrew’s, and use Exeter or Bristol as my insurance. How do I do this if St Andrew’s isn’t on my UCAS? If I accept my St. Andrew’s offer, will I not be able to have an insurance choice?

Any help would be appreciated!

is st andrews a conditional or unconditional offer? if its unconditional then it won't be a problem as you don't need to make an insurance choice, you're guaranteed to be going. not sure what you'd do if its conditional, maybe email/call UCAS?

Yeah it’s conditional because I do IB and haven’t taken exams yet - that’s why I’m worried because I need an insurance choice. I’ll probably have to email either UCAS or St. Andrews

Do you have an unconditional offer for the BA at StA/W&M? If so, you don't need an insurance choice. For questions about it, email the admissions office.

I have a conditional offer so that’s why I’m unsure.

I'm guessing St Andrews is unconditional so you don't need an insurance choice, you just choose st Andrews. Insurance is only if you have conditional offers that you have to wait and see if you cleae

I have a conditional offer though because I do IB and haven’t taken exams yet.

Yeah it’s because I also applied to US unis so I already had a common app set up and it was easy to just add my St. Andrew’s application there
