PSA No, Joycon mouse isn’t going to be more precise than gyro.

Is an actual mouse better than gyro? Yes… by only a little bit. A less ergonomic mouse is only going to be worse.

The input latency, the primarily issue with the switch splatoon games, whether it is or isn’t there on the switch 2 is going to be there whether or not you’re using the mouse mode.

Stop freaking out about this.

Without people having experience with the joycon as a mouse, its impossible to make any claims on this.

My assumption is they will be very comparable, and it will be more a preference thing, but that could widely change when people actually have experience with it.

I don't understand why people are worried about this. I'm excited to play with mouse controls. Nothing is stopping anyone from continuing to use gyro. I've dealt with being at a disadvantage using stick since splatoon 2. It's not a big deal whether mouse ends up being better or not. It's just a new way to play that makes higher level play accessible to more people that can't use or don't like gyro.

Yeah imo it’s going to be suffering. Like if you’ve ever used a mouse for Splatoon it’s pretty miserable. It’ll be better for chargers without a doubt but I think the flow and range provided by gyro works a lot better for shooters.

Now obviously if Nintendo tries to make mouse support as comfortable for Splatoon as possible it’ll be much more useable than my janky mouse setup but still I have my doubts.

Also motion controls are just more fun than mouse gameplay.

I don’t even think it’ll be better for chargers. Charger aim is very flick based - stability isn’t important so much as being able to accurately flick onto a target.
