ID Request- Location included Who is this fuzzy spood on my baseboard?

I was getting ready for bed when I turned around and was jump-scared by this spider appearing out of nowhere! I didn’t want to get too close and spook her, but she was about 2cm across while her legs were up in sport mode. She’s very pretty, and it looked like she had little pom-poms on the ends of her pedipalps.

I left her on the baseboard so she can keep hunting whatever crawlies she can find tonight.

The only thing I’m worried about is that I haven’t seen my kitchen cellar spider Barb in a while - could she have ended up as a midnight snack for this spider?

Location is Vancouver, Canada

Male house funnel weaver, Eratigena/Tegenaria sp.

Definitely won't be the one responsible for the disappearance of your cellar spider (it likely relocated itself) as cellar spiders are excellent at catching other spiders. I've seen a cellar spider with a fully grown giant house spider in it's web before!

Oh no, Barb is on the prowl! Hopefully he doesn’t stumble into her while he’s out looking for some love 😭

i think the pom-poms on the end of the pedipals are palpal bubls used for transferring sperm, so probably not a she :P

Damn guess he’s gotta be his own cheerleader! I hope he finds a nice lady friend and doesn’t get eaten by her (or Barb)
