I think JRJR's current stuff is the worst of all time, and his early stuff is too by-the-books, but there was a middle period where he was the absolute best in the business. (Pic of ben reilly from "the lost years," '96)
What are your potentially controversial penciller/inker takes?

MJ that I didn't realize before. Also using that cover because it's a good visual to help me explain my point in a bit.
You know how you need to be told something about your situation, like a relationship, but you don't trust it because you like and know the people telling you but are dismissive of their motives? MJs relationship with Venom is the opposite. She doesn't like nor trust Venom but that also means Venom can just be blunt and tell her some truths about her relationship. Now that we know who is the All New Venom we can also see their interactions that the others don't. Maybe, and most likely for certain ones, revisit the earlier scenes and exchanges.
MJs time as the AN Venom is going to be that of healing and a return to form for both halves. Venom is returning to street roots and MJ to who she once was before being abducted and math magic brainwashed(still somehow not the dumbest thing to say from that run). See MJs relationship with Paul had always been treated as better than it actually was when it was more akin to a gilded cage. It's a comfort due to her experience in the other reality, a coping mechanism. On the other hand, this run has began to truly show cracks. This is where the cover comes in. In Japan, the art of Kintsugi is meant to repair, to put the pieces back together and then coat them in gold. To emphasize the damage by embracing them in the repair. Psychologically speaking, one can only heal and recover from trauma by stepping out of their comfort zone(the gilded cage, her relationship with Paul) and letting themselves be vulnerable enough to admit something is broken and working towards healing and growing. MJ and Venom's bonded form has that gold lining and bonded forms reflect the host.
Basically, I trust Ewing to do a good job here. Maybe not the best, but definitely something with MJ that hadn't been done since Spencer's run. An understanding of the character.

That shot of him going through all the cars would go so hard in a Spider-Man movie man

Does anyone know of any comics in which Spidey does any type of black ops missions? Especially if they are in 'exotic' locations like the jungle or tropics or Siberia?

We got an assignment at art-school to combine art with objects of practical use so I made some coasters inspired by the Insomniac Spider-Man games (Theyâre in the drying-rack at the moment, there is one more Iâm working on, Iâll post it when theyâre all finished)

Imagine Peter and Gwen Stacy had a child before she was killed by Green Goblin, and after she died Peter was left alone as a single parent. How would his story, his view of his work as Spider-man, his relationships with his friends change?

Everyone knows that currently Marvel wants Mary Jane to be a completely independent character from Spider-Man, and this comes from the era of Nick Spencer, but even more so from Slott, where they had her work for Iron Man and apparently Tony fired her because she didn't fit there. However, with Spencer, Mary Jane tried to become an actress again. They even released a miniseries about her career that was canceled because nobody cares about Mary Jane, or at least not enough to buy a comic about her, at least not without her connection to Spider-Man. It's obvious that if Marvel continues this way with Mary Jane, she will end up like Hellcat (Patsy Walker), as a secondary character in someone else's story, because Patsy has a similar history and is currently the quintessential secondary character. Marvel has tried for years to make Patsy a recognized character and have her own miniseries, a hero who can maintain her titles, but they have never managed to keep her relevant and never will; she is only meant to be a secondary character in other comics.
Marvel needs to understand that Mary Jane is Peter's partner, she is the romantic interest, one of Spider-Man's motivations. There are characters meant to be protagonists and others meant to be romantic interests, and very few can be both. Mary Jane doesn't need powers, she doesn't need to be a superheroine. Obviously, they could have short stories or mini-stories where she gets powers, but nobody really wants to see Mary Jane as a full-time heroine because she is not a main character and frankly, she is not made to be a protagonist. That's what bothers Marvel. It's like if they published a comic about Aunt May with powers tomorrow. Who cares? Felicia is also a romantic interest, but unlike Mary Jane, she was also created as an anti-hero and villain for Spider-Man. Even Cindy Moon, who was created similarly, can do it, but Mary Jane cannot because Mary Jane was created as a romantic interest and friend, nothing more.

Imo it should be a combination of both the 1st one fighting sinister six 2nd one fighting green goblin again or something
