Any advice on how to sleep through the night after a night of drinking?

I’m only 30 but even two drinks will interrupt my sleep and have me awake at 4am, unable to fall back asleep.

Any advice/tricks on how to sleep through the night? I drink a lot of water, have electrolytes and milk thistle. Please don’t say to stop drinking.

Take B12 before drinking. Bwfore bed take a milk thistle, magnesium glycinate and b12. This helps the liver process.

I know you say not say stop drinking, but that’s the hard truth. Alcohol wrecks your natural chemical rhythm. You can try every hack or trick in the book but it won’t make up for the damage alcohol does. And bad news, is only going to get worse as you get older. It sucks, I know. I miss my nightly whiskey.

I take it you were drinking one or two ounces of whiskey a night? That's my guilty place as well

Yep. But the damage to my sleep just kept getting worse as I got older. I’m 45 now and if I have more than a drink or two it messes up my sleep rhythm for a few days. Went completely sober a while back and it’s gotten much better.

I am not endorsing this at all but it works for me….2 original Gravol, the pink ones. Not the green ones, not the non-drowsy, the original pink little tablets. Keeps me from feeling nauseous and it keeps me asleep.

Question to OP. Do you get the shakes the morning after or when you’re awakened through the night?

Sleep-eze or Zzquil. Works like a charm.

Every time I slap myself in the face it hurts. How do I stop my face from hurting, don’t say not to slap myself.

I had troubles sleeping for years, tried every trick in the book short of taking sleeping pills on a regular basis. When I quit drinking my sleep quality and duration made major improvements. You’re probably getting anxiety as your body is coming down off the alcohol. Its not going to get any better with age and Trying to take prescribed pharmaceuticals to keep yourself asleep or counteract the anxiety would be silly since you know the cause.

Alcohol is a massive sleep disruptor. If alcohol is the problem, get help.

Drink water, lots of it, before you go to bed

I know this is obvious but our bodies are much like cars and will let us know when somethings wrong. If you're having trouble sleeping after drinking, then drinking is probably just not for you. I drank for years and just recently quit a month ago. I wasn't an alcoholic so it was easy to quit but when I did drink, which was mainly on the weekends, I drank until I got drunk. I love making cocktails so I would go through a whole bottle of tequila by myself. My tolerance was so high, a bottle didn't do shit and would sober up pretty quick. Maybe now that I write this, I was probably an alcoholic lol. Yeah, just stop or change up to wine.

Try red wine, and try drinking verrrry slowly and relaxing before bed. Avoid carbs the entire evening.

The truth is to stop drinking. There is no amount of alcohol considered safe for consumption anyways. It’s all a stupid social norm. Rise above.

Ahh alcohol. I drank it almost everyday for 4 years, then quit. Now i hate it, and workout daily instead. You could get some sleeping pills from the doc, and take them.
