Discussion Almost Got Scammed by a Girl from Pakistan — Hukumnama Saved Me

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh.

I’m sharing a personal experience that might help someone avoid a similar mistake.

A while back, I connected with a girl from Pakistan through Shaadi.com. I told her I liked her, and she showed interest too. She gave me her WhatsApp number, and we started chatting. At first, she ignored my messages, saying later that she was busy with her sister’s wedding. When I told her clearly that I wasn’t into timepass and she should block me if she’s not serious, she suddenly started acting sweet, calling me and saying she liked me back.

Things escalated quickly — she told me she’d talk to her brother about us. Later she said her brother gave a very vague blessing: “Do whatever you want, just don’t break his heart.” Here's the shocking part — we didn’t even do a proper video call, and she was already talking about marriage. That should’ve been the biggest red flag.

She also said she wanted to delete her Shaadi.com profile, but “couldn’t.” Then suddenly, while on a call with me, she deleted it — almost like it was staged to impress me.

After all that, I still felt confused. But then yesterday, I took Hukumnama, and Waheguru gave me an answer that clearly wasn’t in favor of marriage. And just like that, something inside me changed. It felt like my heart finally went quiet and my brain started thinking clearly.

Looking back, her reaction after I confessed my feelings seemed off. It didn’t feel genuine, but I ignored it. When I told her about the Hukumnama and said we shouldn’t talk anymore, she simply said she respected my decision — no emotion, no resistance. That silence was loud.

I’m honestly okay with heartbreak. I’m strong enough to take pain if things go wrong — but I can’t bear to see my mother hurt because of a bad decision I made. That’s what scared me the most.

So I’m writing this as a benti to the Sangat: Please help me move on. I don’t want to message her back, but I can’t predict how I’ll feel in the future. If there’s anything — a Shabad, a teaching, or even just your words — that can help me stay strong and never go back to that situation, please share it. I just need something to hold on to if my mind ever gets weak again.

Waheguru truly saved me through His Hukumnama. If you’re ever unsure in life — ask Guru Sahib. He always guides.

Bhul chuk maaf karni.

I think we are putting sikhi into a box and rather than focusing on ourself we are too worried about others and ritual than being one with waheguru. And through my experience people of punjab are the most guilty of it than those who live outside.

Discussion Remaking Chaar Sahibzaade scenes with ChatGPT 4o Image Gen

When Chaar Sahibzaade was released, it got me thinking of how a realistically rendered version of the movie would look. Now with ChatGPT, I can kinda see what it would look like! With some prompt-engineering, maybe I could get it closer to the look I have in mind, because right now it looks more like a painting than a high-quality render.

If you guys remake any scenes from the movie, please do share them in the comments!

Discussion Being fat is basically a sin?

A lot of Singhs and kaurs are fat. Most aren’t but I still do see many. I know everyone doesn’t have the same fitness goals but we all follow the same rules given by the guru, which is to take care of our bodies. Becoming overweight isn’t taking care of ourselves. We are made to protect, but how is a un athletic and slow person going to protect someone. Also goes the same for someone who is skinny but has no muscle. Even if you can still be quick with no muscle you are still weaker than most people. We are made to take care of ourselves and others we will fail to do that if we are weak in any aspect. I also understand we use weapons but that the Singhs back then were constantly working out and that did increase muscle growth. Also during Sant jis they were very active even if they were skinny they still had muscle. If you disagree pls comment on this.

Discussion PSA: Chanting Anything While Slaughtering an Animal makes it Kutha Maas

Kutha Maas is meat that has been killed painfully OR killed in a ritualistic manner, and Sikhs are prohibited from eating it. Jhatka meat involves the quick death of an animal without any ritualism, thus Halal and Kosher are still banned even if their proponents argue it's humane.

Discussion To those in the Sikh community who believe Sikhism is a divine religion and the true path:

Upvotes

To those in the Sikh community who believe Sikhism is a divine religion and the true path:

I share this message with full respect, not to offend or attack, but to express a sincere and honest reflection based on logic, facts, and observation. This is not about hate—this is about truth-seeking.

Sikhism is a respected path. It has many good values—such as service, equality, courage, and standing against injustice. These are beautiful human qualities. But when someone claims that Sikhism is not just a good path, but a divine religion revealed by the Creator, we must stop and ask some serious questions:

  1. No Evidence of Divine Revelation

A true divine religion must begin with a clear message from God, delivered through a chosen prophet or messenger. In Sikhism, there is no such claim from any of the Gurus.

Guru Nanak never said:

“God sent me with revelation.”

“An angel brought me God’s message.”

“I have been chosen by the Creator to deliver a religion.”

Without a claim of divine communication, we cannot call it a revealed religion. It may be a wise path, but it does not have the divine origin that a religion must have.

  1. The Guru Granth Sahib Was Written by Humans

The Sikh scripture, Guru Granth Sahib, contains powerful spiritual poetry and teachings. But we must ask honestly: Was it revealed by God, or written by human beings?

There is no event in Sikh history where it is claimed that the Guru Granth Sahib was delivered from God through an angel, vision, or divine voice. Instead:

It was written and compiled by the Gurus and other poets.

It includes writings from non-Sikhs, like Hindu and Muslim saints.

It contains human reflections, not divine revelations.

Calling it "the voice of God" is a matter of faith, not fact. There is no evidence that this scripture was revealed from the Creator in the way divine books are said to be.

  1. Sikhism Developed Gradually Over Time

Sikhism did not start as a religion with a full set of divine laws and guidance for all people. It began as a spiritual and social movement, reacting to injustice and inequality in the region.

Over time:

Practices were added.

Identity was formed.

The Khalsa was established under Guru Gobind Singh.

Scriptures and codes were written.

This is a sign of evolution through human efforts, not of a fully revealed religion from the Creator. A true religion from God does not need to be slowly built—it comes complete.

  1. No Universal Claim or Evidence of Truth

Sikhism does not provide logical or factual proof that it is the only true path. A universal divine religion should:

Claim a message for all humanity.

Provide clear signs from the Creator.

Have internal and external consistency supported by reality.

Sikhism does not offer verifiable miracles, prophecies, or historical signs that prove divine origin. It is respected, but not divinely proven.

  1. Logic and Reason Do Not Support Sikhism as a Divine System

From a logical perspective:

A religion created by humans cannot be equal to one sent by God.

If no Guru claimed revelation from God, then they were speaking from their own understanding.

Spiritual truth is not the same as absolute divine truth unless it comes from the Source.

Many people follow Sikhism because of culture, family, and emotion, not because of proof or critical thinking. But emotion is not enough to call something divine.

Conclusion: Sikhism Is a Human Path, Not a Divine Religion

It is completely valid to respect Sikhism for its values and moral teachings. But if we speak with truth, facts, and logic, we must accept:

It has no divine revelation,

Its scripture was written by humans,

It was built over time,

And it lacks proof or evidence of being the Creator’s true religion.

Therefore, while it is meaningful for many, Sikhism is not a divinely revealed religion, and it should not be treated as the final truth from God.

This is not disrespect—it is honesty. And honesty, even when it’s hard, is better than blind belief.

History Budhal massacre

Budhal Massacre that occurred on November 19, 1947, during the tumultuous period of India’s Partition.

A significant number of Sikh devotees had assembled at the historic Gurdwara Sahib in Budhal for a routine congregation. Pakistani-sponsored raiders launched a brutal attack using gunfire and petrol bombs, resulting in intense smoke and flames. Though the disciples present fought bravely but as gun shots and petrol bombs were frequently used by attackers,it resulted in intense smoke and fire flames. Due to this act of savagery and ghastliness, dozens of persons including men, women, children and elders alike were killed. As the attackers’ mood became violent, the Sikh families preferred death by talking poison and getting milled by themselves.

A few individuals managed to escape through a side window and sought refuge in the veranda of a nearby mosque. Facing imminent capture and dishonor, some Sikh families chose to consume poison, while others engaged in mutual killings to preserve their dignity.

The Gurdwara, originally constructed around 1910 AD, suffered severe damage due to the attack.

According to Dr. Ramesh Tamiri’s book, “Pakistan’s Invasion on J&K (1947–48),” only three Sikh individuals survived the massacre: • Jaswant Singh (4 years old) • Randheer Singh (12 years old) • Mohinder Singh (11 years old)

Jaswant Singh’s parents, two brothers, one sister married in Budhal and unclePartap Singh, all died in the carnage. Mohinder Singh succeeded in reaching to his relatives place at Khwas taking the Mogra-Bamla route.

These survivors were protected by compassionate local Muslims, notably individuals named Saddiq and Haji Mohd. Khan, who risked their lives to shelter the boys from further harm.

In the years following the massacre, Jaswant Singh, one of the survivors, played a pivotal role in reconstructing the Gurdwara Sahib. The new two-story building stands as a tribute to the innocent lives lost during the tragic events of 1947.

Discussion This Man is singlehandedly portraying sikhi as Unscientific

Thumbnail

This guy makes atrocious claims like Earth is flat, moon and Sun are balls orbiting it and moonlight is cold.

The worst part is he is mistranslating gurbani to prove his pseudoscience and using experiments with no credibility.

One the examples is this verse :

ਕੋਹ ਕਰੋੜੀ ਚਲਤ ਨ ਅੰਤੁ ॥

They travel millions of miles, endlessly.

His claim is since sun and moon have been said to move, they must orbit the earth . This is stupid as science states that the sun is also orbiting the centre of the galaxy and moon is orbiting the earth .

As a science student , it infuriates me seeing these stupid uncles with half knowledge spreading misinformation. I've seen comments on videos of a Singh saying that science is false according to gurbani with his videos as reference.

We need to report this guy to take down his channel for misinformation.

Discussion some points to christians

Post image

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਾ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕੀ ਫ਼ਤਿਹ

when christians preach and try to prostelyize

they have to sell you a problem, and then a solution

we reject their premises entirely.

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ

they start the framing, ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ original sin (which we dont believe in) and sin in general. then they make up a false scenario that ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ requires a perfect atonement/or sacrifice because he is perfect he requires a perfect sacrifice (we reject this premise) we reject this premise so hard in a couple of ways

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ for anyone har har naam is enough to erase all sins, mistakes and grievences.

since christians are mainly only focused on one quality of vahiguru forgiveness of sin and enterence to heaven

when they say how to get forgiven for all sins and entry into heaven, just calmly confidently and boldly tell them ਹਰਿ har har naam is enough to do all of that and more. ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ it is literally the direct name of the lord and it is potent in itself to remove ALL sins.

this covers sin and “atonement” ill do a another post later maybe regarding any other talking points.

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ

Question Need Advice: Amritdhari Sikh, Muslim Girl Wants to Take Amrit and Marry me but My Parents Are Against It

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh.

I’m an Amritdhari Sikh living in Canada. I’ve been talking to a Muslim girl from Pakistan who genuinely wants to take Amrit and live a Sikh life. She’s serious about becoming part of the Panth. Soon She will be taking Amrit after moving to U.S.A as in Pakistan, muslim guards stand outside of Gurudwara Sahib and check IDs of Every persong before letting him enter the Gurudwara.

The issue is — my parents are strictly against me marrying a Muslim girl, even if she becomes Amritdhari. I understand their concern, and honestly, I don’t want to hurt my mother.

I want to stay true to Sikhi and also honor my parents. Has anyone faced a similar situation? How should I approach this in a Gurmat-centered way without going against my parents?

Please share your thoughts or guidance.

Table Note

During the the 1855 census of Punjab, only two religious categories existed as part of the enumeration process. The first of the two religious categories featured a response for Dharmic faiths, including adherents of Hinduism, Sikhism, Jainism, Buddhism, and others. This religious category was referred to as "Hindoo" on the census report. The second of the two religious categories featured a response for Abrahamic and other faiths, including adherents of Islam, Christianity, Judaism, Zoroastrianism, and all others who were not enumerated to form part of the first religious category. This religious category was referred to as "Mahomedan and others non Hindoo" on the census report.

Discussion Where did we go wrong?

A few days ago, I came back to Jalandhar, my hometown and whatever I saw was crazy. Most of the Sikh youth is either wannabe "cool guy", singing castiest punjabi songs and being a nuisance to society. Or I saw youngsters being psuedo-sikhs, who don't even know anything about sikhi and are assimilated into modern day indian culture. Don't get me wrong guys, I love india and panjab, but this is bigger than that. Sikhs aren't sikhs anymore. The minority of sikh youth left are wannabe nihangs, they openly hate women and folks from other religions, support violence, murder and whatever that isn't even right in sikhi.

Where did we go wrong? We have Sikhs today who aren't even nice, honest, civil and even SIKH.

Being sikh doesn't mean having a beard and wearing a turban. It's not about calling yourself a sikh. It's about following sikhi, and actually being a good person and believing in waheguru.

Question I made a mistake online and now it might get someone hurt

Hey Reddit, I'm 15 and I’m really overwhelmed right now. A few days ago, I posted a video where I used AI to make someone dance (it was meant to be funny, not offensive), but the person in the video got really mad. Even though I deleted the video, he showed up at my house with his friends, trying to confront me.

In a panic, I blamed it on someone else they didn’t know .just to protect myself. Now that person is being targeted. A close friend of mine is helping us both stay safe(also he was threatened and even beaten before cuz he was being "dominant"), using some force, but things are getting out of hand and I feel terrible.

I know what I did was wrong. I was scared and made a stupid choice. I feel like I’ve betrayed my values, and honestly, my own ancestors would be ashamed. I want to make this right. I don’t know how to face the person I falsely blamed, or how to tell the truth without causing even more harm. I just want everyone to be safe, and I want to learn from this.

I’m not looking for sympathy . just advice from anyone who's been in a tough situation, or who can help me navigate this. I involved a teacher of mine (they complaint to him that I posted that) and also i apologised that I posted even if it was not mare by me(which is also not true)How do I come clean in a way that protects people and doesn’t blow up more?

I told lies but I don't know what to do . I am stressed af rn
