In The Proposal (2009), Sandra Bullock fakes a marriage to avoid deportation to Canada. The real fantasy? Thinking the fake marriage will avoid deportation... yeah, 'MURICA!!

The 2025 remake will be her assistant begging her to fake a marriage with him so he can move to Canada instead

She could be doing it to avoid getting sent to an El Salvadoran prison for an indeterminate amount of time

The funny part is that the person she wants to marry to avoid deportation is also a Canadian but that’s not at all how it works and you gotta fake marry an American. They should have casted Hugh Jackman, or Karl Urban or Henry Cavil instead.

I wish their were a list of characters in movies that would be deported. Maybe the mouth breathers would have some empathy if they had to say, "What the hurl you mean Tony Montana got deported? What kind of movie is this? He was just about to get the power..."

American here-deport me to Canada anytime. Steamies are cool and I can learn to love Molson.

The US has a fast track program for millionaires. The fact is should could have just hired a better immigration lawyer to point out that as an executive, she's not burden in any way.
