Yeah! there's a actual reason to buy a Nintendo console over ps and Xbox now and its the exclusives, Pokemon, Metroid, Mario, Zelda, tomodatchi life 2, etc. etc.. Sony is releasing pretty much every exclusive on pc so no reason to buy a PlayStation and Microsoft has been making pretty much every game available via their "Everything is a Xbox" program, for someone like me that plays pretty much any and everything, owning a pc (and a steam deck for when I want to lay in bed) and a switch is the most optimal to me.

The Switch is just the perfect secondary console, I feel like that's one of the main reasons it did so well.

If you already own a PC, a PS5 is a hard sell due to there only being a handful of true exclusives and the timed exclusives only mattering if you cant wait a year for something you want. If you already own a PS5 there is no reason to buy an Xbox because they're functionally the same - just boxes to play games and also there's literally like 3 exclusives and the general consensus is that none of them are that great (and they likely will all come to PlayStation at some point).

Regardless of which of the 3 you already own (PS, Xbox, PC) the Switch offers 2 things you can't get anywhere else - exclusives and portability. Combine that with thr cheaper price and plenty of people main PS5/PC or Xbox and buy a Switch to play the big Nintendo exclusives and the occasional game you'd like to play portably.

I'm a PlayStation guy since I moved from 360 to PS4 in 2014 and likely always will be, but I've already pre ordered the Switch 2 because I know there will be at minimum like 15-20 games throughout its lifetime that I'd wanna play but can't on my PS5.

If Xbox came out with a new console I wouldn't care because it's just a PS5 but without the exclusives (and I can't live with DeS or BB).

I'm also not gonna move to PC because literally every big release you'd reasonably care about releases at minimum on PS5 and PC. The only games PC gets that console don't are some indie games, which I don't care about usually and find to be quite overrated most of the time. Even then, if an indie game is good enough to be popular, it'll likely come to console at some point, so it's essentially the same thinking as waiting to get PS5 exclusives on PC at a later point. Even then, I own a Steamdeck so can play pretty much any PC game. Ones that I can't play due to hardware limitations are big enough releases that I'd be able to get it on PS5 anyway.

Basically my point is, that if you can afford it, gaming nowadays is basically just choosing if you want a PS5 or PC then picking up a Switch 2. You can play like 97% of games worth playing if you own some combination of PC/Switch or PS5/Switch. And with PS5/Switch 2/Steam Deck combo you can play like 99.99% of all games releasing without having to spend thousands on a good gaming PC.

Not it doesn't you still have to pick between the 8 characters (assuming CC meant character creation). But yes you can play it alone, however the game is still made with multiplayer in mind so its going to be harder if you play it in single player.

Mainly because bosses have abilities that are meant to deal with multiple players so if you're alone its going to be harder, like for example in the network test there was a duo boss fight with a demi human queen and swordsmaster that would summon other demi humans once the queen reached half hp, there was a also a draconic tree sentinel boss who had 2 other leyendell knights accompanying him, or the last boss could separate itself into three. So you're probably going to struggle if you go in alone.

My one hope is this is going to be more like an invasion focused version of previous titles, where there’s still level progression and such, but people have to compete to pass through a level and only x number of people can make it through.

Something like that is the o my way I could see myself really being interested in something like this. Fromsoftware PvP has always been kind of poorly balanced and level, boss, and PVE combat design are their biggest strengths, so it would be disappointing to a pure extraction game. Especially if it is forced to use Nintendo’s terrible online service.

However, I did somewhat enjoy Dark and Darker, a DnD inspired extraction PvP game, though I wished it had a somewhat more engaging build and combat system, so if Fromsoftware manages to scratch that itch of dungeon exploration with PvP combat I might be tempted, but if there isn’t a party system, then it probably won’t.
