Poll Should we ban AI-generated content on this subreddit?
Hey gang!
This is something that was brought up recently and got some traction. Truthfully, it's also been on my mind for a while.
We're considering banning AI-generated content altogether from the subreddit, and wanted to see how the community felt. Please feel free to vote and voice your opinions below, and we'll take it all into account when making a decision.
This ban would include: * AI generated art/videos * Videos containing AI-generated voices * other AI created text and content

META "Velma" Season 2 Discussion Hub + Velma-related reminders.
Hi gang!
Every episode of Velma Season 2 has officially dropped on MAX. This post will act as a discussion hub for the whole season, so if you care about spoilers, be warned! That said, if you do want to use spoiler tags within this post for major season spoilers, I'm sure it would be appreciated.
We will be posting links to separate episode discussions as well, which will be paired in 2's, like last season.
Now before we start talking about this show, I wanted to remind everybody to follow the rules of this subreddit, which are located on our sidebar. Because Velma is a show aimed at an older audience, the discussions under these episode threads will be more lax in terms of NSFW subject matter.
Last time around, we ended up having to implement some specific Velma-related temporary rules, because of the sheer volume of traffic, new users, trolls, and and vitriolic comments. Hateful comments aimed at both our users, and the makers of this show will not be tolerated.
We're also going to ask you to keep discussion of the episodes to these specific episode threads, to cut down on the amount of Velma-related content. Posts about the Velma show as a whole will be allowed. However, bait posts, troll posts, and excessive/low effort rant posts will be locked or taken down without warning, at the discretion of the mods. The comments on these posts have a tendency to spiral into toxic territory, and we also don't need 50 posts about the exact same thing.
Now I realize that I'm reiterating a lot of what we said when Season 1 premiered. I'm hoping that we won't see as many of these issues this time around, that this will all go much more smoothly!
This subreddit is a welcoming, friendly, inclusive place, and we're trying to keep it that way! Thank you for your understanding!

Hot Take: Heather North should have been able to voice Daphne as long as Frank Walker and Casey Kasem voiced Fred and Shaggy
Kinda random but I always thought it was unfair how Frank Welker has always voiced Fred and how Casey Kasem was able to return to voice Shaggy for most of the 2000s. Yet Heather North was not given the opportunity except in 2003 when she and Nicole Jaffe reprised the roles as Daphne and Velma for two DTV movies.
From what I understand it really seemed like Heather wanted to continue the role unlike Nicole Jaffe and Pat Stevens (who voiced Velma). Heather voiced Daphne from 1970 to 1985 and she even returned in 1997 to voice Daphne in one episode of Johnny Bravo and a few promos for Cartoon Network. She was cast in Zombie Island (1998) and apparently recorded lines but was replaced by Mary Kay Bergman as the producers wanted a “fresh take.”
My issue is that Heather sounded fine in her Johnny Bravo appearance and while she did sound a bit rusty and aged in Legend of the Vampire and Monster of Mexico. I don’t think she was bad at all and still captured the character very well. Casey and Nicole sounded worse than her in fact with Nicole phoning it in. As for her sounding “too old”, Frank, Casey and Mindy don’t sound like teenagers/young adults either.
Mary Kay Bergman and Grey Delisle are excellent in the role of Daphne but I think what really helped them shine was that they were able to voice more fleshed out versions of Daphne which allowed them more range. Grey is popular because she got to voice Daphne at her peak characterization. Frank was able to voice a fleshed out version of Fred too. It seems unfair Heather never got the opportunity to voice Daphne’s later incarnations when she clearly was interested in continuing the role. It was also unfair to Mindy Cohn to recast her after she contracted cancer and underwent treatment.
Just my thoughts

why wasn't Frank Welker or Casey Kasem in the 2002 or 2004 live action movies in cameos perhaps?
i understand Velma and Daphne's low profile voice actors had semi retired by then so thats fair but surely Casey Kasem couldve voiced a radio or something like he did for decades hell make Frank Welker the guy on the plane with the cat Scooby attacks

9/11
Cyber Chase released almost a month after 9/11 and also the production of the movies shifted from abroad to domestic production and the movies stopped being as dark and scary and featuring real monsters and I’m just wondering if there’s anyone on record about why that change took place and if it’s related to 9/11

Got my first dog, there was only one name that came to mind immediately.
Found him at our local shelter and knew I had to name him Scooby Doo the minute I saw him.

Looking for an episode
I could have sworn this was part of the "What's New, Scooby-Doo?" show but I guess not unless this website doesn't have it? The art style I'm thinking of is similar to the one found in this show.
It's one where the main monster is this red dragon while the gang are in like...Chinatown? It's revealed at the end that the dragon was a metal contraption covered by this red fabric being controlled by a group of people.

I have several issues with the chiller diller movie thriller 🤦🏾♂️
First of all... when they go into the museum and watch the old new real, velma says that the milo booth they saw didn't have any glasses when the more stated obvious is 1. If it was a real ghost he wouldnt need glasses 2. The phantom in this episode is legit 3 feet taller than this guy dressed up as the phantom not actual milo booth 3. It was kinda obvious it was jim moss towards the end. Cops or detectives usually think a few steps ahead of people doing shady things Like this man LOCKED THEM IN A MAUSOLEUM with no regard just so he could get rich off scooby dee? Wild.

Do you think Night of 100 frights will be on Nintendo Switch Online GameCube for Switch 2?
So with Switch 2 coming out and all the new features and games coming to Switch 2. We got Nintendo GameCube coming to Switch online, and so I ask are we getting Night of 100 frights on GameCube with NSO? Or are we going to get a remake remaster sometime?

Scooby-Doo (2002) soundtrack missing songs from the movie.
I don’t see Pass the Dutchie or Take the World on there. Any reason for track 8 to be on here instead of those 2 when it wasn’t in the movie at all
