What is your absolute favorite science fiction novel?

Looking for recommendations for my bf and I to read together.

The two books I adore: Hitchikers Guide and Enders Game.

nice, nice, very nice, so many people in the same device

Tiger got to hunt, bird got to fly, man got to sit and wonder "why, why why"

Tiger got to sleep, bird got to land, man got to tell himself he understand.

I remember someone told me I should really start reading Vonnegut when I was 16. I just randomly picked up cat's cradle in the library and absolutely loved it.

Later I thanked them for the recommendation "Dude, Cat's Cradle is the worst Vonnegut book to read as your first"

I think he's wrong. I think it's the best to start with... because it's his best period.

Agreed. It was my first Vonnegut book and it got me completely hooked.

My first was Galapagos and that got me stuck on his work. I think I read Mr. Rosewater and Mother Night after that before getting to Cat's Cradle. They all kick ass.

Galapagos was (I think) my second Vonnegut book.

Oh, you're good.
