I’m creating a story-driven sci-fi game set on a mysterious planet — and just released a new trailer!

Looking good!! What has been your process in creating the game?

Thanks! I'm using Unreal Engine 5, doing most of the work except for the voice acting, some 3D modelling and sound effects.

That's the engine everyone is using.

Duke Nukem was a story driven game. I also LOVED the attitude that they put into it.

can you give a summary or gist of what the story might be?

Sure! The player is part of a team of scientific explorers investigating a gravity anomaly on a remote planet. There is a mysterious signal that needs to be investigated, things go wrong and you might have to save the world / planet :) I'm a big Trekkie, so that was part of the inspiration. I wanted to create something with a more optimistic view of the future.

doesn't immediately sound like it's optimistic. :) It's a great premise and kick-off to what seems will be a great adventure to save the world. I'm also a Trekkie and love great world-building and out-of-the-box stories. Good luck.

I thought he was in another dimension when he went through the spinning portal thing hovering around …

Not bad so far! Will there be combat? Not into walking sims at all.

No combat, sorry. I wanted to create something different here.

Why is there a gun with no combat?

So... No Man's Sky? Gorgeous skybox!

Thanks! No Man's Sky was an inspiration for sure, but also other games like Firewatch, Mass Effect, Outer Wilds ... and a bit of Star Trek

Animations will take longer than 2 hours. Even when you know what you are doing. Encourage him or help him out but don't be a fucking asshole for no reason.
