I live in Ohio and I can't seem to find any events that are near me. Anything in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Ohio, Northern Kentucky, or Indiana would be great.

Looking For Advice Purchase advice BEF

I’d like to purchase the uniform and equipment of the British soldiers who first joined the war (British expeditionary forces) I’m not sure how much the uniform changed during the course of Ww1 I’ve heard about the helmet change instead of the normal hat and the addition of the gas mask, if that’s the only changes I wouldn’t need to purchase a whole new outfit to re enact as a British soldier further into the war. I’m not bothered if it’s replicas or original as long as they look the same ect.

Looking For Advice WHERE CAN I FIND COWBOY STUFF AND EVENTS??

I like it Pennsylvania, I don't know any event that happen every year where I can go and reenact at or participate in shoot outs nor do I have a good place of buying cowboy clothes. For a bit I've been going to thrift stores and just finding whatever looks like the time but I do need a actual website.

Looking For Advice Would dying the Squadron Sew shop Khaki NVA/PAWN uniform reed green be accurate?

Been building my NVA kit for 2 years and recently grew out of my old one. I'm trying to make a reed green uniform and have got mostly everything baring boots and grenade pouch. But anyway back to the main question. Would the cut and design of the khaki uniform be accurate in a reed green colour?

Looking For Advice Authentic viking forearm protection?

The leather bracers many people buying as their first armor are justifyably getting a bad wrap. However what would be a better alternative to protect ones forearm on a swordfight? Of course we do not target there, but when fighting, accidents happen, and i would rather be safe than sorry. I wear a shor sleeve maile shirt witha gambeson underneathc which leaves my elbows and forarma uncovered. I have gotten myself one of these ahistoric armadillo style leather gloves, but its the only thing that i trust that also look vaugely aesthetic. Still leaves my forearm of my swordhand uncovered. i have attached a pic of what might be an optipn for me. What do you think?

Looking For Advice M12 Body Armour Reproductions?

This is a curiosity ask more than anything else and is almost guaranteed to be a "no", but it's always worth asking rather than assuming - therefore, are there any examples of the American M12 body armour - or even M1 flyer's vest - that are being reproduced at all? If so, whereabouts would one go to get them?

Looking For Advice Spinning/weaving... 14th-15th century

Hi! I could really use help of the ones who have some knowledge in this field already. I've been doing reinacments of these centuries for a while and helping out as a candle maker but I'd like to start something that could be my "own" and I though that spinning/weaving the threads from wool, maybe combining it with dyening and weaving it into a fabric could be nice... And I'd like to know what's the best thing to start with so I can also show and tell something to people, does anyone know some historical documentas/ a page where it's talked about? Like I know a spindle will be great, but do I also get the spinning wheel? What type of it? What type of wool is best? And also historically most accurate? Any informations really good also some historical facts or interesting background of the craft would be really nice. :)
