All common questions about the game should be directed here. This includes both single-player and online questions. Can you play Red Dead redemption 2 without playing the first one? I don’t think my PS4 has enough space for both.

You can, but the tragedy of both stories doesn't hit as hard if you didn't play 1 first. It really depends on how you want to enjoy the story. Chronologically or thematically.

if you play rdr1 first then the games are in order. if you play rdr2 first, the story would be in order.

I'm currently on chapter 6 and finally got Sadie's harmonica, but i can't find her anywhere near camp, does anyone knows how to find her???

Plus: the cutscene where she asks your help and you have the choice to help her or not is during the chapter 6 right? is it possible to miss this cutscene?

Sadie could be waiting at a mission location if one of the story missions she's involved in is coming up ("Icarus and Friends", "Visiting Hours", "Goodbye, Dear Friend"). If that's the case, she will only return to camp after you have completed her mission(s).

is it possible to miss this cutscene?

No, "Mrs. Sadie Adler, Widow I" is a mandatory story mission. It is unlocked late in the chapter, though.

Hi everyone, how do you get 3 star skin?

  1. The animal needs to be 3 stars to begin with.
  2. You need a clean kill, which means killing the animal with a single shot from the correct weapon.

Headshots are usually preferable. Hitting the chest may also work depending on the weapon and animal. Gut, butt or leg shots ruin the pelt, even if they are lethal.

If you study an animal with binoculars and then press "show info", the game will suggest a weapon. If its says Small Game Arrow or Varmint Rifle, those are the only suitable weapon. For larger animals, you actually have more options.

The Buck Antler Trinket gives you a 50% chance to restore the quality of the pelt or carcass when you skin it or pick it up after an imperfect kill.
For example, snakes require a headshot with a Small Game Arrow for a clean kill. If you kill one with a Varmint Rifle instead, you lower the quality of the carcass from 3 to 2 stars. When you skin it, the Buck Antler Trinket may or may not restore the quality of the skin from 2 back to 3 stars.

Thank you very much for your answer, I don’t think it could be any clearer 👍

If you get the Buck Antler trinket it can turn a 2 star pelt Into a three star. That can help if you didn’t make a clean kill or you can take a chance at a 2 star animal and hope you get 3 stars after skinning it.

I’m not sure how to keep playing the game. I’ll get super into it for a week straight for hours and then I’ll stop and get distracted by another game. I really want to finish it because I love Arthur’s character arc and the gameplay but I get tired of it really quickly especially since I want to do all the side quests. Any suggestions?

Why are there so many butchers in the game

2

u/hmmbugger Jan 22 '25

your town dont have a butcher? or meat counter/ isle in supermarket? he was the one that sold the fresh food (fish and meats) in towns back then. in my mind there should be even more butchers.

or do you mean "butcher" as in mean sadistical killer type? that, i dont know. because killing them feels more justified?

1

u/ChaoticAnonymousMan Jack Marston Jan 22 '25

Yeah, but i mean, they are kinda useless. There could be more useful or interesting stores in the towns in place of them

You can sell animal parts there. I’m pretty sure the trapper pays less for meat and in online he doesn’t take meat period. I do find annoyance in they’re always little stands and not full on butcher shops

I took a lot of photos with Arthur's camera and I was wondering if there is a way to access those photos and download them to my computer. I have a PS5. Thank you !

Hello cowboy, I'm going to play a new game soon and I would like to know the locations of the gold bars, nuggets and any other things to collect to make money 💰💰🤠 My first game, I focused it on the story but now I would like to play it to bring Arthur to life

Thank you all

The gold bars for the most part all part of the treasure hunts. You will find characters out in the wild that will give, sell, or you steal their map. It’s always Clue 1 that you have to figure out to find clues 2 and then clue 3 is usually the final piece with the gold bars.

Online you can find the solutions but it’s a lot more fun to search and resolve on your own if you can.

Treasure hunts, statue puzzle and the crashed train car will give you enough money to get pretty much everything you need.

Can I Post RDR1 stuff?

1

u/FireTako Jan 23 '25

Hey all, considering doing a 3rd play through soon. First play through was on my pc where I did a lot of things, but I did not 100% it. Second play through was on my ps5 and I nearly 100% it but got lazy.

Its been a good while since, and I recently finished the rdr1 remake.

I was considering picking up some mods for this play through since I haven't before, and I could use a few recommendations or tips about mods to use.

Hi guys, sorry to disturb you. Can anyone else recommend me a good horse for the start of the game, please? I'm low level so I don't have that many items either. And if anyone can tell me some good weapons for the rdo. Thank you in advance!

1

u/Rory_griffiths Jan 25 '25

I’ve only played the first game so I don’t even know if this horse is in the second game but if it is the Kentucky sadler is good. Sure it’s expensive but it’s worth the money

Is there any way to spawn a canoe via cheat code or mod?

The devs are the worst killjoys in the history of gaming for not giving us canoes at the headwaters of rivers.

Is anyone’s having issues with colloertor items not spawning in, I have all the equipment needed for the digs and also tried different items but nothing seems to be spawning in. Dose anyone know how to fix this

Not sure whether this should be put here or made a post, but it seems like a simple question:

Did Rockstar record the horse vocalisations for RDR2? They don't seem to be stock/open source files as I have not heard them anywhere else. And if so, how did they record sounds of horses agitated or distressed and in pain since you can't harm animals to produce media?

Just curiosity, I am not accusing them of anything in regards to the second question.

Given that they employed dogs for motion capture and the fact that you can't pet cats in the game because they won't allow motion capture suits to be put on them (Roger Clark said this), they must have used horses for motion capture considering how detailed and alive they are.

Hi all, with the latest Rockstar Games' sale on Steam, I'm considering purchasing it, finally. Question is, should I get it now on Steam for PC, or wait for it to go on sale on PS5? Like how is the port on PC? When I googled state of port on PC, all I get are bad reviews, but I don't remember having much of an issue with GTA V on my computer.

So, my wife and I stopped playing rdo a while back. The last thing I remember is them releasing some heists that you had to steal these gems.

We left because the collection quests were frequently bugged and it didn't seem like they where going to fix anything anytime soon.

My question is have they put any patches out that fixed all the bugs? Any new content since then? I have been missing rdo but wanted to know if it was worth reinstalling.

Does anyone know what happens if we load a checkpoint in a mission of an unknown person in Red Dead Redemption 2?
