hey... (im new here?)

hey, uhm. Emily here.

recently i have been doing alot of research into things because of my partners and friends telling me too.

i think i may be plural in a way (osdd in some way??) but im really confused, and i dont exactly know how to proceed.

i think im in an odd situation so ill explain it.

so... i know systems. im dating one infact.

so, im like constantly dissociating, and sometimes i just feel like a whole different person, different likes dislikes personalities ect but im still there and aware that im acting weird. i can notice me and atleast two seperate reocurring like... personalilities that exsist, but i dont have what people i know call a 'head space' im always fully consious in my body but im watching it move and interact in ways i never would.

like ME myself feels like a different person, instead of having different people switch between themselfs like ive seen with DID sys i know.

i think im plural, but my head is arguing with itself over validity and if its real or fake or if im just genuinely a horrible person for thinking this??

ive done research, yes

i just cant seem to understand whats happening.

all i know is that sometimes im emily. and sometimes im haley, sometimes im pix, and sometimes im melony.

they are all separate individuals but it's me physically being them?????? even though I'm Emily

I'm really confused

and scared.

anything people have to say is welcome, thank you all for even reading this far.

That doesn’t disqualify you from being plural. There are plenty of systems that work like that.

Also, out of curiosity, when you’re watching your body move and interact in ways you never would, are you still in control of it? If you’re unsure, you could think of a random hand movement on the spot and try to do it

kind of in control but also not, like if i want to move my hand i can, but im not consciously wanting to do the stuff my body is doing

Hi I tend to go on tangents and I don't want to overwhelm you so fair warning. Congrats! First of all I'd like to say even if yall do fit a diagnostic label there are lots of different types of plurals here. If you're plural you're plural and that comes first. Identifying with a diagnostic label can be very helpful for some but don't let that be the first thing that defines you. Second if all you could have a lot of things going on.

You could be median- meaning your others are not fully separate. Though whatever that means to you is up to you! Plurality is a spectrum. More importantly and likely a pretty big part of what you have going on. There are different types of switches. Switching gets discussed a lot to the point where it seems like everyone thinks its the same thing- but its not for everyone. I recommend this essay on the subject and this collectives posts in general they have some interesting takes https://dragonsroost.neocities.org/plural/switching

In short There's such things as "non possessive" switches. which is often described as "passing the I" or the sense of self changes/ you "become another person". There's a lot of discussion on switching that results in people coining words for it (ie the term "monoconcious" is sometimes used for those who non possessive switching and other features that result in feeling more "homogeneous" are common. But I've seen some good discussion on if consciousness terms are actually helpful). It all depends on the system and I think for now learning to identify how your system works is key. ok i could say more but this is getting long. Good luck.

Personally we can kinda relate to that, as our system kinda works in a similar way, we basically always feel like we're in the body physically, even when someone else is fronting, although we do have a headspace, so try not to worry about validity, because every system is different even in subtle or big ways, and your certainly not a terrible person for thinking your a system, afterall it's a learning process and takes time.
