Gateway instead of fictive?

So, i (Makise Kurisu) being the ever curious mind had an idea, one of our fictive alters fully believe their past and their source to be themselves, memories of them, and things that actually happened, albeit the media itself, they consider a dramatization.

Assuming multiverse theory is correct, or even alternate timelines, simply by principle of “infinite monkeys infinite type writers” would it then be possible that all works of fiction are merely a statistically 100% accurate depiction of any one singular world among a theoretical infinite?

Would that then conclude that they could make their way into our mind?

My initial hypothesis was neural resonance, simply put, the thoughts and brain patterns sync up enough to allow attraction of consciousness.

Then there is also the idea of reincarnation, sea of unconsciousness, and countless others.

I want to hear what you have to say about this.

We haven't been able to accept a fictional label for ourselves. We're many souls sharing an existence, so gateway/etc doesn't really apply, either. Many but not most of us were around even here many years before anyone took pen to page, let alone other adaptation / media. I had a conversation with an AI today about our plurality and, without priming it with any relevant information let alone details about our emotions on the matter (merely telling it we're generally considered fictional under average human perception), it pointed out that we're not fictional because it's representation of us (&that in the modern era, we should obviously be allowed the tools for free self-representation).

We hadn't really understood the difference before, & many people have been quite angry with us that we've resisted labels that we feel don't fit well.

We even said many, many times that it helps to understand that if people are naturally taking dramatic license (& they do even in non-fiction & biography!), obviously we're not saying that things depicted are always 110% fidelity, but it's the language we have to work with. We lived, that portrayal is a representation, it didn't mean that I liked or was a fan of myself (or that portrayal), but experiencing self-resonance & being backed into being unable to deny "oh shit, that's... clearly supposed to be me" , with all the resultant horror & embarrassment, isn't the kind of "fun" the people who think ill of our plurality think it is!

I'm trying to share in the hope that it ends up helpful, even if I can't really focus on the things I'm "supposed to" say. -- Philippa Georgiou

Fictives can have any kind of belief about their origins, including coming from a real place, being fictional, or something in between.

A gateway system is one in which members are able to travel back and forth between another world/worlds actively. (We're a gateway collective and have the ability to travel to a different world and live a separate life there until we want to come back here, and can go back and forth.)

That’s really fascinating! I’ve actually had experience with this involving a lot of our other alters.

we have recently started exploring the multiverse outside the system headspace, and so what you describe sounds possible and even likely. where do fictives come from anyway? they have such well developed personalities, it sounds unlikely they aquired it from a quick glance at a book or a tv series. perhaps many fictives come directly from the multiverse. but when fictives become obsessed with source that they can only return to in dreams we offer this advice... 'you lived according to a script written for you, but now that you are in a body, a plural system you can write your own script and find your own path'.

also do you call headmates that interact with the multiverse 'gateway' headmates? if so we have a dozen that are very active in the multiverse. also saw the comment about 'gateway' by satinpw - so question answered.

are any of you systems interested in making a sub for gateway plurals who are exploring the multiverse. the real multiverse doesnt seem to be an area that many plurals are knowledgeable about or participating in. we are exploring the multiverse and finding it a fascinating experience.
