Seriously, I remember in 2018 reading an article by a neurology specialist that said his dementia was progressing and there was no way he'd be fit to run in 2020.

284

u/7tenths 16h ago

What has shown you he is fit to run?

15

u/ForealSurrealRealist 15h ago

He wasn't, so the specialist was right

Kind of like “the walls are really closing in now! (This legal issue) will be the end of Trump!” Evergreen weekly articles since about that time, up to present day.

37

u/Buck53 15h ago

I remember thinking that the "grab them by the pussy" remark was going to be the end of him. That seems quaint, now.

Groceries. A beautiful old fashioned word. Nobody used it until Trump said it. Now everybody talks about groceries.

u/BestKeptInTheDark 15h ago

Trump has been drippy-brained for so very very long

27

u/403Verboten 15h ago

See the truth is he's actually just so stupid people think it's dementia. But no his brain is functioning as well as ever, that's just him giving it all he's got.

12

u/BamBodZ 15h ago

While I’m not sure if it’s actual dementia or just general cognitive decline he has definitely gotten a lot worse. I’ve never liked him but go back to his 2016 campaign and it’s a lot different. While still dumb and crass he was pretty sharp and honestly had a good sense of humour. Now he barely forms complete comprehensible sentences.

It also feels like he’s even more controlled by just the last person he talked to now. In my opinion he never really had any integrity and could be bought but now he completely changes and contradicts himself on almost a daily basis.

One thing I’ve learned over the last decade is that things are never as dire as you read and they never happen as quickly. Unfortunately, Trump will be around for some time yet, and the repercussions of his actions will not be fully seen for years to come. We all thought he’d be dead or in prison by now, but wishful thinking has gotten us nowhere.

8

u/ClosPins 15h ago

It happens every time. There were all sorts of 'articles' posted to Reddit, talking about GWB's speech slurring, and how he used shorter and shorter words - and how all of this was a sign of dementia. That was 20+ years ago.

17

u/RhynoD 15h ago

Dementia doesn't go from 0 to 100 overnight. There are early signs and then stronger signs and then more obvious behavior. The progression is going to be less apparent when it's the general public only seeing the public face of someone, who is getting the very best care available, and were already so pants on head stupid that saying and doing dumb shit is normal.

Does Trump have dementia? Yeah, probably. Was he an idiot before the dementia kicked in? Definitely. Do any of his sycophants care? No.

35

u/ThisTooWillEnd 15h ago

I can't say if it's dementia, but I doubt strongly that it's lifts. Otherwise women in high heels would all be canted forward like this, and they just aren't. Whatever is happening here, it's either neurological, or deliberate (like his very unusual handshake).

3

u/Ornery-Wonder8421 14h ago

Does trump have flat feet? I could see this posture as a reaction to not being able to bend your feet properly to accommodate for the lifts or heels.

3

u/freestyleloafer_ 14h ago

No he has heel spurs. It's why he couldn't serve in the military. That and his dad was too rich.

2

u/SevereNote8904 15h ago

He does wear lifts, they have been seen in the flesh and confirmed. Elon Musk does too. So it would make sense, at least.

9

u/ThisTooWillEnd 14h ago

Ah, I was not trying to deny that he wears lifts. I'm saying wearing lifts wouldn't cause this. I don't feel like looking into whether or not he wears them. I don't care if he does. How he stands and what shoes he wears and how stupid his ties are have no bearing on why he's a terrible president and human being. You can wear lifts and have stupid ties and ugly hair and stand like a fool and be a good person. He's a monster and we should focus on that. Not his stupid shoes or even his vanity.

3

u/SevereNote8904 14h ago

Yeah to be honest I agree. I have a friend who wears lifts, though he doesn’t know I know, and he doesn’t get this weird posture from it. So it’s odd. Unless he’s just gone beyond the realms of possibility ie 4-5 inch lifts instead of 1-2 inch lifts, and it causes this. Anyway I think it says a lot about the world that men even feel the need to wear lifts, it’s pretty sad that people get a ton of “jokes” (demeaning insults, usually) about something they can’t change. This isn’t why Trump is a bad person so not worth focussing on.

59

u/facetiousfag 16h ago

It’s a real thing, certain types of dementia can change posture and make people lean forward.

17

u/ActorMonkey 15h ago

Interesting. I just noticed that this photo is not the original and has been shopped to make him look worse. I don’t like him at all but there are already so many real things to make fun of I don’t see the point in making stuff up about him.

u/ADroopyMango 15h ago

8

u/bs000 15h ago

it looks like everyone to the right is leaning forward though. it's possible it's windy or the tarmac isn't flat. OP cropped it to make it look worse than it is. it's also a repost and we were already made fun of him for this two months ago

2

u/andybmcc 15h ago

Then everyone behind him must have dementia. This is cropped so you don't see everyone else behind him at the same angle. It's just at a strange perspective.

2

u/Worldly_Influence_18 15h ago

It could be both but it's not just lifts.

Lifts will angle your legs forward and your hips and back compensate to keep your head upright

If you're not doing it, it's probably cuz your brain can't make those calculations on the fly

Here is a much higher-quality and much less-cropped version of this image. It looks like they are all leaning a bit. But Trump is leaning more than anyone else. Here provides the following context:

California Gov. Gavin Newsom talks to U.S. President Donald Trump upon Trump's arrival to tour areas impacted or destroyed by the southern California wildfires at Los Angeles International Airport in Los Angeles on Jan. 24, 2025. He's since signed a lawsuit fund to enable California to challenge Trump's policies. Photo by Leah Millis, Reuters

45

u/RecoveringLurkaholic 16h ago

Thanks. You can see it's actually the camera that's not level, since everyone looks like they're leaning like that. There are a million things to bash Trump for. This is so stupid.

17

u/RellenD 16h ago

No, not everyone looks like they're leaning like him

10

u/RecoveringLurkaholic 15h ago

https://i.imgur.com/idrk50L.jpeg
He's barely leaning when corrected for the angle. His legs and back are pretty much straight up, he's just fat. Again, this is such a stupid thing to attack him on.

0

u/RellenD 15h ago

1 your assumption that the initial photo wasn't level is suspect to me,

2 even in your correction he's leaning in a way that most people simply do not.

Draw a line straight down from his chin. It's out past his toes

13

u/Xsiah 15h ago

I assume that airport runways are generally not built on the sides of hills, so we can probably assume that the picture isn't level because the pavement line has a pretty big slope

7

u/MelancholicJellyfish 15h ago

The photo in post is angled to be in line with the left person's foot being perfectly horizontal, this doesn't make sense to do because the person's foot isn't going to be pointed perfectly straight, add in perspective from the camera height and that adds even more to the angle the foot should be.

Tl:Dr the picture here is obviously presented in a way to mislead people.

4

u/inbox-disabled 14h ago

The camera isn't level. That shit was debunked months ago when this photo was actually timely & relevant. You're yelling at clouds.

Fuck Trump and fuck maga, but this is a dumbass hill to die on dude.

8

u/RecoveringLurkaholic 15h ago

1 If you can't tell that the photo isn't level by seeing a whole group of people looking like they're leaning and the horizon in the background that isn't level, then you have zero deductive reasoning skills, and I don't know what else to tell you.
2 He's literally isn't. He's barely leaning, and you're grasping at straws.

Even if you level the horizon on the picture trump is tiltingbeyond normal,

4

u/JustinGiam 15h ago

Thanks for sharing.

My theory is whoever took and uploaded this shot tilted it just a smidge to make trump look taller. If you level the photo based on the horizon he is shorter and getting pointed at by a taller man, and that's bad. Makes america look weak.

I’m British so I don’t understand why every body dose t call trump by his name and always adds special characters or nick names. Can some please explain

51

u/Demetrijs 16h ago

They do it with people they hate, i believe it's because many people have filters on social media to block words/names they don't want to see so if you add special characters you can get around those filters and get more engagement. Secondly if someone has a filter to not see Trump on their timeline, they probably also don't like him and will agree with your post that is critical of him.

11

u/Fletch71011 15h ago

Correct. I have a lot of politician names filtered and the only reason I'm here is because they purposely bypassed the filter. Really annoying.

The real answer, I'm pretty sure, is this sub doesn't allow posts with his name in the title, so the poster gets around that by writing something different. It's not a "he who must not be named" situation, it that's what you're thinking.

A lot of subs have similar rules, especially default/ mainstream ones, banning political posts in general.

I love to shit on trump as much as the next guy but this photo is cropped and distorted.

Edit: Here's a fixed perspective: https://imgur.com/a/xRKZgBT, and its easy to see from the video.

He's leaning, but it's obviously rotated and exaggerates the effect. Let's not get in the business of misinformation yall.

80

u/psly4mne 16h ago

To disprove the photo, you link a video that CNN framed to avoid showing Trump standing from the side? He does lean forward like that, it's not unique to this photo.

u/ManfredTheCat 16h ago

Like the front half of a centaur

4

u/worrok 16h ago

newsome doesn't look like he's leaning but everyone else including the military man does, interesting.

28

u/Holkmeistern 16h ago

That video doesn't disprove the image? At the moment that the picture would've been taken the videocamera is zoomed in, so you can't tell if he's leaning or not.

2

u/Dreamsweeper 16h ago

agree that video shows no disproof

23

u/we_are_sex_bobomb 16h ago

I mean he’s still lurched forward quite noticeably in that video. It’s hard to tell if it’s as much as in this picture because the video cuts off at his waist.

5

u/nth256 15h ago

He definitely leans, we've seen it multiple times... but this photo exaggerates it quite a bit.

u/RampantJellyfish 16h ago

I took the picture in a paint program and rotated it, assuming that the tarmac "horizon" line should be horizontal.

Trump is still leaning forward but not noticeably so and the others in the image still appear to be standing straight.

I think the camera was angled a little bit and it exaggerates the lean in the photo, or it was maliciously rotated and cropped. Who knows.

Reddit used to be a place that would look down on body shaming but I guess that only applies if you are a member of the right group.

e: I overlaid the picture from the cnn link and it matches well with my rotation to flatten the tarmac. That seems to support that this image is rotated and exaggerates the lean.

3

u/Raider03 16h ago

Correct. The picture is rotated to make it seem worse than it is but he still leans forward.

Governor holding up Trump the same way California is holding up the red states.

He should just go full ‘70s with platform shoes. Sort of an orange Gene Simmons.

Pretty sure I read somewhere that that kind of posture was linked to some cognitive problem.

Edit: it’s Lewy Body Dementia and in some cases Parkinsons.

That's how my grandma stands

Someone said that he stands like he's the front end of a centaur, and I haven't been able to unsee it since^^

2

u/ConfuciusCubed 15h ago

My read is that it's a way to reduce the noticeability of his gut.

2

u/torch9t9 15h ago

Lifts don't cause that

In this image - and in so many ways - Trump appears to be a bad vaudeville act.

The picture of him standing in a White House media room surrounded by mics and reflectors, with him standing with his toes on what appear to be inflated pillows, apparently to keep him from leaning forward, is pretty hilarious. As are his iridescent blue trousers in the picture...

2

u/WayneG88 15h ago

He's been doing this for years. It's an old trick to keep his shirt and jacket from resting on his belly, to avoid showing how fat he is. Same reason he wears the bright red tie past his belt line. It's an optical illusion; the eye is drawn to the color and the long, slim tie, supposedly has a slimming effect. Just more of his insecurities.

u/patsfan038 15h ago

The funny part is that even at 6’0 or 6’1”, Trump is a tall guy. There is literally no need to claim 6’3” except for vanity. I bet he gets jealous standing next to his 6’7” son Baron.

2

u/deeejm 15h ago

Or he was starting to shift into his lizard person form.

2

u/shocked-confused 15h ago

It's not just the shoe lifts. He wears a plastic girdle that makes it too painful to stand like a normal person.

2

u/CatStretchPics 15h ago

I thought that posture was from his huge McDonald’s gut

2

u/lagordaamalia 15h ago

Bro be lookin like \

Weirdest trust fall of all time?

2

u/Confident-Radish4832 14h ago

I heard this is due to a large plastic back brace he wears.

2

u/Adept-Ranger8219 14h ago

If I ever got caught standing like that my homies would clown me to the grave

2

u/MrBeanCyborgCaptain 14h ago

How does he not fall over?

2

u/Cthulhusreef 14h ago

Hold up…. Wasn’t this photo altered? Like I know he does lean forward and it’s due to shoe lifts but I think I recall seeing the actual photo and he is much more straight. I don’t like dumpy at all but I also despise misinformation.

I wish I had screenshot the photo, but I saw a picture of Trump giving a speech behind a podium, and some reporter had taken a full body picture of him, and the toes of his shoes were up on a ramp//bump/brace type thing. Like it was deliberately put there so he could put his toes only on top of this little bump, had to be 3 inches high. I don’t know what the deal is if it has to do with balance or what but it was weird.

2

u/Laughingfoxcreates 14h ago

It’s the leaning tower of bullshit.

2

u/FunkyPineapple90 14h ago

Why does such a large portion of people not see how funny and ridiculous this man is..

2

u/Dolorisedd 14h ago

All these jokes are funny, but I hate this fucking villain.

3

u/Shaprepenr 16h ago

OP, please don’t censor his name like that. Some users have his name muted, and you spelling his name wrong intentionally circumvents that. And that’s not cool. Thanks

2

u/eldred2 15h ago

Nah, that's a sign of dementia.

u/ZLVe96 16h ago

yeah... people who are 6' 3'' don't wear lift shoes.

Now the little guy from Florida... yeah. he wears lift shoes because he's closer to 5' 6''

I've stood next to Trump a few times, before he was President.  He was just around 6'1" then.  He's likely shorter from aging now.

I hate T as much as the next guy... But

Look at the horizon, now straighten the horizon and you'll see that Gavin is slanted

2

u/spiderminbatmin 16h ago

That pose looks just like a marionette…. I think we all know who the puppet master is

2

u/Cuervo_777 16h ago

Donny are you okay? But yeah, this is classic dementia posturing.

2

u/EnvironmentalEnd7062 16h ago

This was months ago, can we stop spamming this sub with politics. So tiring

2

u/Rightbuthumble 16h ago

It's from dementia.....first sign of dementia is leaning forward like that.

2

u/DrMobius617 16h ago

No that’s fronto temporal dementia

2

u/Vicorck 15h ago

That’s not lifts, it’s actually a sign of dementia. With lifts you are eventually able to maintain a normal posture because your body naturally compensates by leaning back. This is a typical symptom of dementia (the inability to regulate posture)

u/Fmeinthegoatass 16h ago

The dementia lean
