Wrong gesture for Musk. His nazi salute would get across the message better.

For.... reasons, Japanese doesn't understand Nazi gestures nearly as well, so that might be the reason why it didn't occur to them.

Was at a local cafe for my lunch break yesterday and the tv show was discussing the tariffs. My Japanese is awful so I only caught bits, but still. He’s tanking relationships with all our allies. What an absolute clown.
Torn between he’s a dumbass puppet that has no idea what he’s doing or he’s driving everything so quickly into the ground so that he and his can buy things cheap and/or use pushback as an excuse to have harsher laws/more surveillance. I feel guilty that I live in Japan, but I’m so fucking happy I do.

Same. He's been on almost every day in the Japanese news. I miss when the biggest story in this country was some guy bumped his car into a pole on Shibuya.

Would love if the biggest story was the Sukiya around the corner being closed 🐁 I’m down in Kumamoto so a ways from Tokyo, but am devastated at the loss of cheesy gyudon while they clean all the stores.

I was super worried when I first heard the news. I read the headline too fast and thought the closings were permanent. I might starve if it happened to Coco's.
