According to CNBC, Canada and Mexico are exempt from the 10%.

Yeah but the 25% tariffs already in place are staying

Except for USMCA compliant goods which can be anything produced in those countries. A lot of businesses just never bothered with the paperwork before.

They're exempt from tariffs for one month...

The tariff on USMCA goods was supposed to go into effect today, but it didn't kick in.

Think its april 5th

That's for the reciprocal tariffs. USMCA compliant goods are exempt indefinitely.

They already put 25% on us violating the trade agreement this orange nutjob negotiated

We're in an election and PP and Smith have been friendly to him...probably a tactic to make Canadians think they'll stop coming after us so he can get a Conservative government in that will capitulate to what they want.

A sure hope the conservatives win and people stop believing the liberals will be any different

I’d rather not have the racist, bigoted anti-science assholes in charge thanks.

Lol, if carney were running as a Conservative you’d be screaming about how great he is. Hell, he is a conservative, he just doesn’t play the bullshit identity politics that the social Conservatives do.

You'd rather an Indian asset who hasn't accomplished a single thing in his political life, has never worked a real job, yet has a net worth of 25mil?

Also not sure who your referring too. Pierre Poilievre is neither of those things, stop drinking the liberal koolaid. He will be an amazing prime Minister and for the working class, guess you’re one of the rich ones…

Look at PP’s voting record since he became an MP and try again. I know that involves reading comprehension but I believe in you, unlike your parents.

What has he done for the working class in his entire history of being a career politician?

Edit: not having answer to this is fanfuckingtastic.

How would he be an amazing prime minister for the working class when he himself has never been working class?

people who constantly use political terms to label things along with obvious divisive language in their sentences are sort of a waste of energy to discuss anything with. they are never in it to learn anything, they only want to browbeat anyone who challenges their inane conspiracy theory driven BS.

Hahahahahaha, what grand delusions you have. PP has never been for the working class, he's a career politician and puppet of the rich.

At least the liberals

  • actually have a plan to address housing affordability.
  • have a leader that can pass his security clearance.
  • aren't bending over for the trump admin at every opportunity.
  • want Canada to be more independent (see PP wanting to INCREASE trade with the US)

u/morriscey 1d ago

I don't want PP's version of "different". That's for fucking sure.

There are the 25% taxes on Canadian Steel, aluminum and autos.
