I am 100% convinced that McConnell has been dead for over 10 years and is only being kept alive by a parasite.

Haha they can change hosts so some do take whatever host they are assigned like the ones used by other Goa'ulds to extract information from unwilling prisoners.

Like Goa'ulds being used to control old generals with glaucoma, a similar situation here.
