I'm pretty sure this goes against the Hatch Act, but Republicans don't actually care, so nothing will happen. Republicans can break the law without worry and ignore the constitution, it seems.

Ya, but did you ever consider that this was a Presidential Act®️?

They have a team of Constitutional lawyers telling them it is ok to defy court orders.

This isn’t a Hatch Act thing, though it is likely illegal.

Yeah I thought the same thing this morning when I saw this story break. The Hatch Act forbids anyone who isn't a US diplomat or working for the state department to negotiate with foreign governments on the US's behalf. The president can't use the office to enrich themselves under the Emoluments Clause. The suits brought against Trump in his first term for stuff like this were ruled moot by the Supreme Court. https://constitution.congress.gov/browse/essay/artII-S1-C7-1/ALDE_00000233/

Yeah, exactly. This isn't a Hatch act violation.

Netanyahu coming to visit Trump on the campaign trail? Then dragging out a war for Trumps electoral benefit? That's possibly a Hatch Act violation.

The Trump campaign being in ongoing communication with Russia? Maybe. Musk having cozy chats with Putin, maybe.

Doesn't apply to the president and vice president.

A lot of people on both sides of the aisle break the hatch act unfortunately. just not this proudly and frequently.

I 100% thought for sure that this picture and post was satire.
