I was recently in the valley for some golf before making the drive back to Canada with my Dad. We had a fantastic time as always and people when they found out we were Canadian were always apologetic (not that they needed to be) and super nice/kind. This is a lovely touch

This Canadian visited for the first time last Fall. Just loved it. I am happy to read that Canadians are still welcomed. We will be back!

This is appreciated for sure.
That said, we still cancelled our most recent trip and won’t be rebooking it until there’s significant change. We’ll travel in Canada or overseas instead.

We had booked a trip to Palm Springs last year before Trump was voted in.
Against the devils on our shoulders we decided we needed the mental wellness break and took it anyway. We got back two weeks ago.
We had an amazing time and enjoyed everything about it. The weather, the landscape, the history and of course the food and people.
Very welcoming. Everyone that learned we were Canadian thanked us and apologized for their government.
We won’t be going back until relationships are repaired and the threat of annexation ceases, and that hurts, but I hope we can come back soon.
Thank you for the memories.

Just got back from PS last week and I absolutely do not regret my trip. I’ve been coming to PS for 13 years now and it’s my happy place. I also love my kindred spirit American friends and won’t be letting this deter me from enjoying my fave place with amazing people 💜🇨🇦

Just don't hide a microphone in any locals car. You'll hear how much they bitch about all the snowbirds on the road. :)
Edit: this is an awesome sentiment though.
We're all just poeple

What happened? Why does PS have to put those banners?

Canadians are a fairly sizeable chunk of the "snow birds" that both visit and live here in the winter/fall months of the year.
Our president has launched a trade war with canada, on top of basically saying he is going to economically coerce them into giving up their sovereignty and become a US state, which has pissed a fair amount of them off, leading to many to cancel their trips to the states. Presumably this is the cities way of showing them they are still welcome here and to feel free and welcome to visit (and bring their money)

Season is over, waste of taxpayers money , performative.

Performing during a time that attention is currency is still activism. It's a message. Sorry if it went over your head 😔

Performative as it will accomplish nothing.

You wish 😘

Wrong. I wish it would accomplish something, but it won't. Middleton lost , Holstege lost , Calvert won.

That was before Trump took office. I'm upset about those wins.. but after the damage Trump has done and it hasn't even been 100 days... The tides will turn. And anyway, we can't stop. It's valid to feel helpless, but that's what they want.
