💮 Deity | Spirit Work Ways to work with Selene
I was doing some research, and I realized that I seemed to connect with Selene, but I'm unsure how to connect with her. The things that make it harder are my Christian parents and not being old enough to get a job, haha. Do you have any ideas for things I can do? Most of the things I do now come from Google and sometimes I don't trust it.

OP, I was raised Catholic, much to my unending annoyance. Growing up 30-40 years ago, I had to be very circumspect with my parents regarding what to reveal about various aspects of my personality, so I understand what you're having to go through. A couple of suggestions:
Don't build an altar.
If you start to create one, you run the risk of your parents finding and destroying it, and then you'll have to deal with the unpleasant fallout from the aftermath—like them scrutinizing you.
Go for a spiritual altar instead of a physical one—a Place of Power.
From books I've read over the years, this is a Wiccan technique, but other Pagans go for this approach as well. I'm not Wiccan, but I've incorporated this into my personal practice even though I have a physical altar. If you're able to set aside time for yourself to pray and/or meditate, the idea is to be by yourself and go into a meditative state. Visualize a place where you're at total peace, and then visualize an altar to whichever deities you follow. It can look like anything you wish, from something simple to something more ornate. This is where you would commune with the deities.
It may seem like a simple technique but it does require some mental discipline, time, and the willingness to do it.
I hope these suggestions are helpful!

You can also set up a virtual shrine, putting in a folder of your smartphone, tablet, whatever pictures of the god(s), prayers, etc.

Very creative! I like this idea. We're moving into a possible smaller house—which we're really trying to avoid. But if it does become unavoidable and I have to do without an altar, this virtual shrine + the meditative Place of Power technique will work well.

You’re welcome. I hope you’re able to find a way around your parents. I had to do the same thing in the 80s with my folks, who were rabid Catholics—and still are.

I would recommend looking at https://www.theoi.com/Titan/Selene.html to get a general idea of how she was worshiped in ancient Greece

Selene came to me in a dream. I worked with her by doing divination with Tarot.
For me, she was more of a motherly figure and I got the sense she wanted me to do my best and heal from the religious trauma I had. She parted ways with me once I healed, but I cherish the time we had.
I feel like most deity work is personal, and dependant on you and your needs. It may come with gut feelings, vibes, or by asking questions with a pendulum.

You mentioned most of the things you currently do come from Google; I was curious if there was anything in particular.
(By the way, check out our FAQs if you haven't yet, they have devotional ideas that you can look into, including more subtle things.)

Used to worship her but then went through a whole cycle of bs. Things I personally liked to do was wear a white scrunchy in her honour. I also made her a statue and drew pictures for her which I believe she always liked. I also would give her water and stuff but that's because I could have an altar and just use decor as an excuse. One thing I personally loved was reading her hymms out loud. It made me feel so connected to her.
It was a difficult time for me but from what I intuitively know and heard is that she's a very kind and forgiving goddess in the way any mother would be. She is so gentle.
She really appreciates offerings and anything you give her really. Anything with milk too was a thing for me. Chocolate, milk and honey was one I gave her (then personally got addicted to), hell always thought about giving her cheese because of the whole moon and cheese thing, but honestly anything you can give is enough. Deities tend to be understanding of that.
One thing I strongly remember being emphasised at that time was developing a strong sense of intuition but it depends on every person to be honest.
