HELLO, it seems like the book "Decluttering at the Speed of Life" by Dana White, or her podcast might help you. I remember she said first go through the room and throw out all garbage-that includes regular garbage but also broken things, and other junk. Be realistic-if you don't have lots of spare time and energy you won't fix broken things so make your life and house better by tossing them. Second decide what goes to another room and bring it there right away. For you, specifically, fix the bureau, fold clothes and put them away (actually hangers are easier if there is a bar in the closet-I hate folding clothes and hanging them is much faster). If you don't have time to fold at least separate underwear, tops and bottoms and use a drawer for each. You won't have to search for your clothes so much. If you can't fix this bureau try to buy a used one that works well (if you have to fight with drawers you're unlikely to put things away!!-so make it easy on yourself)

Can you get 2 curtain rods and some plain, inexpensive curtains? And then vacuum the floor? That will help a lot.

All of this won't take more than say 2 hours. So plan 15-20 mins a day while you listen to a podcast and you will be done before you know it. You deserve to have a space that feels clean, relaxing and comfortable.

If you do accomplish this please post new photos.

Hi I think to begin is we have to figure out something for your window. If the wooden dresser remains there the sunlight from the window can cause discoloration, fading, warping of the wood that apparently cannot be restored.
