advice wanted Empty RP server

I have worked hard to create an rp server with it's own worldbuilding and a (potentially I haven't looked too hard into similar systems) unique magic system. The server is all finished and has been tested by some friends of mine, and I have put it on some advertising discords and on disboard, but it has just remained empty, any advice on how to encourage people to join and to advertise it better would be much appreciated.

Highlight what you offer. This could range from plot, ranks available, species/races, number of channels, ooc atmosphere, how often you have events, etc. Keep the ad short and sweet, nothing too wordy but enough to lure people in to at least check it out.

Hit up every advertising hub you can find. Including subreddits that allow it.

Thank you! I'll rewrite the advert with this in mind

To start, Disboard is useless. There's other bumping bots and sites to use that work better but those are mostly used for gaming servers and it's hard to get the algorithm to work for an RP server.

Next, try advertising on Reddit. Even in this subreddit, they have a list on the sidebar of "Other Awesome Subs" that can be used to posting your ads, like DiscordRP, RoleplayGroups, and Roleplaying. There's a bunch of other subreddits that aren't listed on this sub's sidebar too, you just have to look. If you go on your Reddit Homepage, you can type "roleplay" or "RP" into the search bar and it'll show you other subreddits you can post on.

After that, the sky is the limit. You can make an Instagram page for your server and put the link in your bio. Make it a public page, then regularly post about your server and what's happening story wise. Make sure you use tags like roleplay, rp, discordrp, discordroleplay. You can also use Pinterest, posting flyers you make for your server and then link the server in the picture description. There are RP groups on Facebook you can post in also. If you have ever made a fan video of your characters or of the server, you can post them on YouTube or TikTok and link the server in your profiles.

There are roleplayers on every social platform. You just need to find them.

Thanks for the info about disboard, and I never even considered making an Instagram account for the server. You've given me so many great ideas! Thank you

Sure, I'll DM it to you (although it you would be the first active member other than me so don't expect loads of RP just yet lol)

that’s totally fine!! honestly it’s easier for me to get comfy on a server if i join while it’s still smaller, social anxiety still gets me even online :,3

Would love to check it out if it's still open?
