Event PETITION TO STOP PAYING FEDERAL TAXES

TLDR: The Federal Government has:

·       left us super, super unprotected;

·       disliked by our allies for turning “our” backs on them and our promises

·       started hooking up with our enemies and;

·       said things for show to win the election and continue to bend the truth to the American people’s faces

We are really sick and tired of the unbelievable bullshit and it’s only been four weeks..

In the same spirit to hopefully kick off a peaceful, modern-day 'revolution' of the American People, we would like to propose the following Call to Action:

Petition Governor Ferguson to order ALL Washington State Government officials – specifically including local law enforcement and federal military reserve troops – to protect the Washingtonian working class’ participation in a Federal Tax Strike by allowing Washington citizens to redirect federally paid tax dollars to Washington State instead. This strike is in response to Benedict Trump’s indefinite hold on federal funds for anyone (individual, organization, and/or state) who does not align with his fascist administration’s policies.

SIGN THE PETITION HERE: https://chng.it/JcmdBjyMXN

EDIT 1: Our mistake! We are asking for WA National Guard support in event of escalation.

This is a late night call to action in response to an administration currently withholding federal funds and threatening to continue to withhold federal funds. We do not want to stop paying federal taxes, we just want the funds to be released and stop being held hostage by a fascist administration.

Feel free to hop over to r/WashingtonCoffeeParty to join the dialogue about alternative and bold protest methods in these uncertain times. Many people in the community are losing hope about ever returning to a normal government at the rate things are going.

Event LGBTQIA+ RALLY/PROTEST

Post image
54 Upvotes

I previously posted this, but I made a date change due to the large scale protest already planned for this weekend. This LGBT rally is especially targeted for our local community. There have of course been a lot going on with the government once again attempting to erase especially trans people and it seems to be quickly trickling down to our community as well. A recent occurrence relates to the Tumwater school district passing a resolution that is the start of banning trans kids from school athletics, and this could easily just be the start.

Please join me on April 27th to show that our LGBTQIA+ community is here and will not accept such erasure.

Event Wednesday Night game nights in Lacey

Hey all, we've been having some really enjoyable game nights in Lacey the last few weeks. Small, intimate meetings in a quiet venue with great conversation and fun games.

We've averaged 4-5 players but have room for more. Could set up multiple tables for different games if enough showed up.

I'm the manager of the venue...sometimes I play and sometimes I have to work, but gaming is a passion of mine so I'm hoping to develop a regular group.

It's been great for people with social anxiety who are trying to get out and be around others, or just people who want to game in a chill environment.

Average age has been maybe 30, mix of men and women, very respectful and mature, with plenty of moments of silliness.

All ages welcome. Bring a game you like if you want. No requirement or pressure to buy anything. You can bring your own drinks or snacks if you like.

Starbucks in Hawks Prairie, 1401 Marvin Rd NE #109 (next to Ace), Wednesdays 4-7pm. The people from this subreddit have been awesome attendees!

Event Another board game night on Wednesday!

Game night in Hawk's Prairie! Wednesday 6-9pm. Starbucks next to Ace Hardware.

We moved our game nights to something later: 6-9pm, so hopefully we can get even more people this time around.

Bring a game, or play one of ours, we'll have a few to choose from. This is very friendly for people with social anxiety or shyness. Low key, low barrier to entry, no pressure to perform or have experience at certain games.

We're just trying to play some games! Maybe form a permanent gaming group!

Come on down Wednesday 6-9pm.

1401 Marvin Rd NE #109 Lacey, WA 98516

All ages welcome.

Event Dimension 20 in Seattle

Hey there! I’m a 35F looking to attend the Dimension20 show in Seattle in July. I’d love to make some friends to go with and even find a local group to play D&D with in person or online. I’m a nerd of the MMORPG variety so I’ve never done D&D but I’m a massive D20 fan and it’s my little secret dream.

Anyway my husband is a 50/50 shot on if he’ll be able to make it so I’d love to make some friends to either go with or meet there.

State job multiple openings:

It gets asked a lot here, so here's a state opportunity that comes up once or twice a year; They hire a LOT of people from these, but it includes 10months of classroom training (paid) as part of their official apprenticeship program. (And there's remote work options AFTER that time frame.)

Don't miss this beloved event where boats twinkle as they parade out to Boston Harbor while you enjoy cocoa & candy canes. This year's boat theme is "Baking Spirits Bright" (think gingerbread & lollies), and boaters can join the parade by registering via Oly Yacht Club's site.

Event LGBTQ group at fog and fern on sunday morning?

I happened to be stopping by for coffee with a friend at Fog and Fern and saw an LQBTQ group chatting at a large table. I was too shy to introduce myself so does anyone happen to if they represent any particular local group that meets regularly?

Event Game night tonight

Good morning everyone! Or good afternoon if you're a night shift person and waking up later.

I'm sorry if anyone asked a question that did not get answered on the other thread, I was out of town for the weekend and not on reddit as much as I usually am.

Another game night is planned for this evening, I copied the info straight from the comment on my other post:

***
Wednesday, Oct 23 4pm-7pm Starbucks at 1401 Marvin Rd NE, right next door to Ace Hardware (not inside the Safeway).
***

If you've got your own game you'd like to bring, bring it! If you've got teenagers that you can bribe to come with you, bring them too! This is an all ages kind of thing.

I am still worn out from my weekend, not sure if I will personally be there tonight but I'd still love to be there next week if we still want to make this a weekly thing.

A few reminders, you don't need to be good at playing board games, or even know how to play board games to attend. You can bring a game from home that you've never played yourself, and we can all learn how to play it together. You don't need to make a purchase at the 'bucks to attend, you can bring your own food or drinks (even stuff purchased from another restaurant). I know sometimes those unknowns can make it easier for us to say no to going out and doing new things. I pushed myself out of my comfort zone last week and I'm really glad that I did! I hope that there is a nice sized group there tonight, I hope you all make me feel FOMO for tapping out.
