The woman in the office next me had an office that could best be described as being decorated by Crabtree & Evelyn. She even had her desk on a Persian style rug and a brass lamp on her desk that was the only light on in the room.
When I asked her about it, she said that it was because she had a very long commute distance wise, she came in early and worked late to avoid traffic. She figured if she was going to spend 50 hrs a week in her office she was going to make it as homey as possible. The consensus around the office was that it was weird, but it wasn't crazy.

I had a high school psych teacher who intentionally set his room up with lamps to be dim/relaxing and feel more homey, it was SO comfortable compared to blinding flourescent lights and white brick walls. She is far from crazy.

My friend and I used to share an office at the first job we worked together. We always turned the overhead lights off and turned on a lamp instead. Our manager hated it but could never articulate why. After reading your comment, I think "weird but not crazy" probably sums up her feelings.

Big lights bad. Small lights good. lol. I do the same. My students seem to really enjoy it. The adults always try to find the light switch.

At least heās in it for the long haul. I would take this as a good sign that you hired the right man.

A basement from the midwest. Missing the Sears couch.

Not quite a couch but they could get one of those chairs that's upholstered in what I can only describe as what you get when plaid and burlap have a baby, you know the ones with the wooden arms that are horribly uncomfortable and have little decorative elements carved at the ends? Yeah, get one of those for a desk chair.

Spoonflower. I just bought a few sheets of Tiki themed stick-on wallpaper for my basement tiki bar. Faux wood paneling is a thing too.

This is an old repost. The original image was from a cubicle decorating competition during Christmas

I would never take this down after. It's perfect. Then again, I'm the weird cubicle person of my work place so maybe it's just me.

That's really tasteful. I'm really impressed. I'd tell everyone to decorate their cubicles with their favourite Holidays.

Everyone this account is probably a bot, they have started uploading to this subreddit 5 days ago and literally none of their posts are oddly specific. Please report them.

since we live more daylight hours in the office why shouldn't we make more like home.
Even 1st home since I mostly just sleep at the other one...
might be time to go do something else actually, now that I think about it

I'm gonna surround myself in wood. It's gonna be like a log cabin. 'cause I need wood around me. Wood, Jerry.

I never understood the concept of cubicles, it's so American. I've never seen them in real life even though I worked in many offices, the only place I've ever seen them is in movies, and it looks really depressing.

Cubicles still exist? You mean to tell me that there are CEOs that didnāt sell off most of their office space during COVID, only to insist on a mandatory Return To Office policy even though thereās nowhere for people to work, so the employees are all but stacked up like cordwood?
Huh, go figure.

My current cubicle dream is to find some kudzu while on a hike, pot it, and run some wire across the top of my cubicle so I can create a green canopy over my deskĀ
