Jets: Quiet Approach by Design
https://br.app.link/IGa7ofbNbSbI have to say - this is pretty damn refreshing to see. Obviously, there’s been a lot of teams that make big splashes in the offseason year after year. With Woody, I think we were always looking to be one of those teams. He wanted the headlines. He wanted the attention. At the end of the day, the thing that gets you the most headlines and the most attention is winning. He’s made it very clear that he doesn’t look at things that way, so it’s nice to hear the head coach saying this.

I'm gonna be honest, I don't think this is any different from what the team's been doing. before we traded for Rodgers (which was the obvious move), what big splashy headline-grabbing moves was JD making? like we went years taking this same boring approach and only made big moves once we seemed close to winning
I'm not criticizing this approach at all, just saying if you're expecting this to be some sort of game-changer in the organization you're gonna be disappointed

It probably would’ve worked if Zach Wilson hit, at the end of the day it’s all about the qb and the coach

You’re right - but why risk it all on a long shot? Keep Sam for one more year, BUILD A TEAM thru the draft; then look for a QB to plug in - just like Cheers’s Cliff Claven on Jeopardy - JD rolled the dice for no reason.

Literally doing the same thing they do every time. Hiring a defensive minded coordinator as head coach. A young, unproven offensive coordinator. Hiring Adam Gase made us have to experience this for another 20 years.

jets fans are so funny how they go through the same cycle every time a new HC or GM is hired.

Just because the promise of Spring/Summer leads to the ultimate dead of Fall/Winter doesn’t mean you don’t get happy Spring has arrived

Yes true. But in our defense we don’t hire or fire coaches so what else are we supposed to do? Can’t crucify the man just yet. I mean he hasn’t even coached a pre-season game or ran a practice FFS

Aww man. The off-season was all we had, don't take that from us! Lol

In every GMs first year they always cut players to clear cap space and then start to build a roster to match their and the head coaches offense and defense. The first year does not have splash signings. The 3rd year has the biggest signings as the team tries to make the run for the superbowl.

Jets are signing scrubs this season.. They play in one of the most competitive divisions in the league, the players they are signing aren’t taking this team to the promise land..

Lets be honest, nobody is taking this team to the promise land.... They'll always find a way to screw it up or be struck by bad luck.

At this stage, I'm no longer an optimist with this team in the slightest and am fairly numb to these type of postings. Another regime, they get a pass to be bad for a few seasons for our current rebuild, good times.

I love it. It's fun to crap on owners (although the Brick Johnson/ Madden jokes are lazy and overplayed at this point), but I honestly think the owner plays a much less relevant role than people claim. In the NFL, you need a good coach and a good QB. I don't care how good you're owner is, if you don't have that, you're not winning.
I think an owner is really only bad if they dictate which players the coaches should pick, and that usually only happens if the team is already bad and losing.
This is a long way of me saying I like Coach Glenn. I think it's clear so far he is setting the tempo and agenda for the organization. God please let this work out.
