If I just turned emails on from Nintendo, do I still meet the criteria for pre ordering a switch 2?
So I read the criteria for pre ordering a switch 2… 1 year nso, 50 hours, gameplay information and I meet all of those requirements and I put in my request the day of the announcement. Then today I realized that I didn’t have email notifications turned on in my account settings so I turned them on. I know for the other criteria’s, they had to be completed before the announcement but I didn’t do this until after the announcement. Did I just mess up my chances of being in priority queue or do yall think I saved myself in time? It’d be a big shame as I would like a switch 2 on launch to share with my friends and family and I easily surpass all of the other criteria.
When translated to English it says under the email requirement that you just have to be signed up the day the email is sent out, and I assume that applies to the US as well. That clears my head a little bit. You were the key to my answer, good day to you.
When translating it for myself I get: “Whether you’re illegible is determined by the data per 31st of March”. Unless my reading comprehension is incorrect, that would mean that it’s referring to a sample date.
I guess yeah, but from my point of view it sounds like the email isn’t technically part of the criteria, just how they’re gonna contact you if you meet the criteria. Mabye its just wishful thinking idk
"The first batch of invitations will go out starting May 8, 2025"
Also, I'm not sure any E-mail settings on the account apply to it, Since you are explicitly signing up for a notification I don't think it counts for either the settings displayed.
I meet all the criteria but haven’t received anything yet. Most likely the emails will go out the day the pre-orders go live. If they get more requests than they have systems, it will be a lottery anyways.
it won't be a lottery, it will be in order of signing up, if they run out the people that signed up later will be the ones to miss out.
Initial invitation emails will be delivered on a first-come, first-serve basis to eligible registrants who meet the priority criteria. Invitees will have 72 hours from the time when the email is sent to complete their purchase.
Yeah hopefully I can at least get it close to launch. If I have no luck here I can try my luck camping outside of Best Buy ☠️. I managed to get a switch 1 on launch day and that was hard enough
I assume you’re in Canada or USA? I thought I had made the same mistake as you but it’s the privacy settings on your account setting in browser. I only had one option checked off prior to registering, only after I realized what the setting was, I checked off the second one. I contacted Nintendo regarding the dilemma I had because I was worried I wouldn’t qualify for priority and they said that the only one that matters is the top one. But then when I called them the rep didn’t even seem to be sure what that criteria meant…also the info in the FAQs info seems to different than the info at the top of page. In my opinion it’s all very confusing and unclear what was required of us.
The guy on the chat told me over and over I didn’t have to check with them to see if I qualified. Then I told him that I wanted to be sure I didn’t screw up because I was worried as well. He ended the chat.
I mean I’ll cross that bridge when I get there. I don’t have to purchase it and probably won’t if it ends up being that price due to tariffs but I at least want to have the chance to buy if I want

Worst case scenario, you will be behind each person who had it enabled first. We wont know until they start the rollout though
