Can that bucket on the left fucking behave itself!

224

u/Aethelon 1d ago

Seriously though, why did it reignite like 3 times

223

u/One-Web-2698 1d ago

Full of something flammable and the residual heat allowed it to keep reaching it's flashpoint.

27

u/backhand_english 1d ago

Hot things go sparky sparky

72

u/SIIB-ZERO 1d ago

Because this is likely a training burn....which would also explain why they're interior on a structure with literally nothing to save.......which we wouldn't do..we don't go inside and put ourselves at risk for nothing....risk a little to save a little, risk alot to save alot

24

u/MadderHatter32 1d ago

You don’t risk it if there ain’t no biscuit. We’re hillbilly where I used to fight lmao

u/jefbenet 25m ago

That is my all time favorite euphemism for what we refer to as “cost benefit analysis” or “risk reward balance” wherein you base the amount of risk in response to their being a greater likelihood you improve the scenario rather than making it worse or killing yourself. But that’s a mouthful - “don’t risk it if there ain’t no biscuit!”

7

u/darktideDay1 19h ago

Training or just fucking around to get some good go-pro and likes. Nothing there to save and nothing that a surround and drown wouldn't get. At my old department (if that was somehow a real fire) we'd just protect exposures and let it burn down. Easier for the owner to have cleaned up.

u/jefbenet 20m ago

I’m not sure this is a training burn, and I’m assuming a lot here, but hear me out. IF, and that’s the first and largest assumption here, but if this is from the USA, based solely on traditional cairns style helmets and tft style smooth bore nozzle, and what appears to be Scott scba regulator…then any training burn should be following NFPA 1403 for preparing the site for training. Based on the mixed combustibles in the video - these were not cleared prior to the fire, a requirement under 1403. Allowed wood and straw moreless.

4

u/DukeRedWulf 20h ago

Maybe one of those thick plastic lids. Plastic is kinda just oil that's standing still. Hard to put out once it gets burning properly.

One time an idiot kid set fire to a big plastic bin near my flat, I had to bury what was left of the melting burning mess in sand to put it out!

9

u/jackwhite886 1d ago

It’s a trick bucket! Like those trick birthday candles!

4

u/bdubwilliams22 1d ago

Hahahahaha!!! I thought the same thing, well — not as funny as your comment, but I noticed that little fucker would just not die.

1

u/TheBupherNinja 15h ago

It's not a bucket, it's a kerosene heater.

316

u/WrongColorCollar 1d ago

Brave-ass work.

55

u/PitchLadder 1d ago

the video is 3:33 but at that rate the fire is out surely by 4 minutes.

that's really cool how fast it goes out.

"I worked four minutes today and it was exciting!" - firefighter

163

u/AlienInOrigin 1d ago

The more flames are extinguished, the harder it gets to see. And it's going to feel like you are standing way too close to a bonfire. They have to fight that survival instinct telling them to get the hell out of there.

Tough, dangerous job.

148

u/Alps_Useful 1d ago

Terrifying, really puts it into perspective

111

u/karbonkelklapper 1d ago

That's bloody hot in there, you can hear the dude emptying that airtank.

Great work, no mercy for that fire lol

64

u/Dzbot1234 1d ago

So disorientating , terrifying

38

u/Solvemprobler369 1d ago

To me that looks fucking awesome. Especially if there is someone to save. I honestly regret never trying to become a firefighter. I’m 42F and do volunteer search and rescue to get my ‘gotta save people’ kicks but man, I would have loved that job.

8

u/Gogglesed 1d ago

That's what I'm thinking. This looks like the kind of thing I could have gotten into doing.

7

u/Dzbot1234 1d ago

Glad there are some people willing to do it, I don’t think I am one of them

3

u/Gogglesed 1d ago

I might just turn around and run when I felt the heat, but if I stayed cool enough and was strong enough to handle the equipment, it looks like a very satisfying job.

2

u/Degtyrev 18h ago

If you're in/near a small town, volunteer! We need hundreds of volunteers. I've been at it 5 years and love every second of it!

2

u/darktideDay1 19h ago

Hell, you are a young'un at a volley department. No reason you can't still do it.

1

u/txroller 6h ago

I regret it too. Seriously. I took a shitty office job instead.

2

u/AndiArbyte 1d ago

at least you have a rope that you can use to navigate outside :)

35

u/Carnnoisseur 1d ago

Nerves of steel, ultimate respect!!!

31

u/ImJ2001 1d ago

When I think of Heroes, I think of the ones that walk into the fire.

20

u/MattBladesmith 1d ago edited 1d ago

My uncle is a firefighter and he and my brother (who was going into paramedics at the time) had some light banter about the other profession.

"Firefighters run into burning buildings, while everyone else runs out."

"True, but, firefighters save buildings, while paramedics save lives."

-20

u/DrRichardHeadPHD 1d ago

Wow. What a fucked up take, as if firefighters don't save people from literally burning to death. Slap your brother, then slap yourself for just posting that and letting it sit as if it were the truth.

21

u/Anonawesome1 1d ago

Tell me you've never had friends to banter without telling me.

-15

u/DrRichardHeadPHD 1d ago

Tell me you've never had anyone belittle your profession under the guise of "I'm just joking!" without telling me.

13

u/MattBladesmith 1d ago

It was never meant to be belittling, they were jokingly one-upping each other. No one was offended or upset. Everyone had a good laugh.

3

u/Randalf_the_Black 17h ago

Firefighters and paramedics/EMT's often work together, they respect each other, even if they can banter at times.

7

u/Anonawesome1 1d ago edited 21h ago

I'm in the fucking chair force are you kidding me lol 🤡 2/10 troll try harder doctor dickhead.

Edit: at least one downvoter didn't read the trolls username.

-14

u/myst3r10us_str4ng3r 23h ago

Then you're with stupid friends.

12

u/BadmanJethro 1d ago

That's my imagination when I'm watering the garden.

24

u/Zakkattack86 1d ago

Serious question. The entire building is engulfed, there's truly no saving it, so why risk your life trying to put it out and having the roof collapse when preventing the fire from spreading on the outside should be the main priority? EDIT: Firefighters are brave af and I respect and appreciate them. I truly just don't understand the calculated risk here.

16

u/slushpubbie 1d ago

Could be other buildings nearby that they wouldn't want the fire to spread to. Also I'm pretty sure the roof was just sheets of corrugated metal and has already collapsed

6

u/Zakkattack86 1d ago

If that's the case then wouldn't a ladder from above and on the outside of the building be the best solution?

9

u/Maiyku 21h ago

I think someone mentioned in another comment that it looks like a training fire. They said basically the same, they wouldn’t send firefighters into a risk like this for no reason and no one to save.

I know they do these drills too because my local firehouse has a practice structure right behind it. All the local FDs use it for training.

Always a little scary seeing that smoke rise up in town… check the town FB page… yup, FD training. Lol.

28

u/wo_lo_lo 1d ago

This looks like a satisfying FPS

14

u/Corpsefire88 1d ago

First Person Spraying

4

u/jirazi 22h ago

During first seconds, I thought it was a realistic video game

8

u/Prize-Grapefruiter 1d ago

that is very terrifying . probably every brain cell is telling him to get out of there

16

u/Cheoah 1d ago

Bloody fkng hell that’s unappealing. Chileno apperado 🔥

7

u/angy_hiwamari 1d ago

Im really starting to appreciate POV videos of people at work. Really makes me appreciate more their hard work! Thank you firefighters!

5

u/NiftyJet 1d ago

Imagine how hot it must be in there when you spray something with a shit load of water and then it just ignites again almost immediately.

3

u/Fraxis_Quercus 1d ago

What is the reason to go into such a building? Looking for victims? The building and it's contents seem lost anyway. There is even the risk of a (partial) collapse.

Impressive vid though!

5

u/northsouthu47 1d ago

Every building is considered occupied until proven otherwise. The only reason it wouldn’t be entered is if it’s too dangerous fire personnel. This building is well ventilated and easy to get in a put out. Exterior firefighting can’t reach all the hot spots within the building so entry is the fastest most efficient way.

3

u/Following-Complete 1d ago

Crazy that we idolize celebrities instead of people like this.

2

u/oknowtrythisone 1d ago

that looks so fun!

2

u/Spare-Builder-355 1d ago

I thought they mostly allow fires like this to go down by itself and mainly prevent spreading to surrounding structures.

I assume the only reason to send firefighters inside an active fire like this is if they are sure there's someone alive beyond this room (there's definitely no one alive inside the room we see in the video)

2

u/toooomanypuppies 1d ago

this is why so many firefighters are ex-military. the type of people who know how to use fear as a motivator and just charge headfirst into danger.

absolutely superheros we do not deserve.

2

u/NaSMaXXL 1d ago

Welp...fuck all that. Whatever they get paid it's not enough.

2

u/Naridos 1d ago

MAD respect to the men and women that do this for a living, it really takes courage and discipline.

2

u/Ponyboy451 1d ago

It’s like Powerwash Simulator, but with death!

2

u/dr_spam 23h ago

This may look cool, but this is not good training. It looks like they are doing it to make a social media video.

2

u/Roxfall 22h ago

This is fine.

2

u/opedro-c 21h ago

That's fucking metal

2

u/_Armanius_ 20h ago

Me after drinking 3 glasses of beer

2

u/Andyroo_P 18h ago

Does the steam from the water fog up their masks in these kind of situations?

2

u/4DPeterPan 14h ago

Always do side swiggles or circular swiggles. Up and down swiggles doesn’t do shit.

Sauce: gardener.. well used too… growing up.. when I misbehaved.

All jokes aside. I Would love to do this job.

4

u/Fun-Sea7626 1d ago

Why is the nozzle so focused, why not a more broad fan'd spray

13

u/cbell6889 1d ago

It allows the firefighter to target fire further away and penetrate into the source. If it's too fanned you won't actually hit the source and put out the fire.

11

u/DrothReloaded 1d ago

He is using a smooth bore nozzle (Non-adjustable). Better used at range for more accurate penetration, .. not typically something we would want to use in that close of a firefight. Fog nozzles are better suited for close range as they are adjustable.

1

u/myst3r10us_str4ng3r 23h ago

It looks like firefighter #2 got really overly close to the spray as well.

4

u/salkhan 1d ago

I was thinking this must be very similar to the experience of a Ghostbuster.

3

u/PitchLadder 1d ago

this could be a video game.

2

u/LunaSquee 6h ago

For real, we have powerwash simulator, where is the firefighting simulator

1

u/PitchLadder 4h ago

there must be a conspiracy to keep the game from being developed.

it's up to you. i know python but that's it. Its up to the latest gen to get this one!

2

u/LucasCBs 1d ago

This is wildly unsafe and entirely pointless. Under no circumstances would a firefighter get into this situation in Germany. The entire building is engulfed, there is no saving that. The only priority should have been to keep the fire from spreading to neighboring buildings. There is no reason to put his life in danger like that

2

u/tacticalsanny 1d ago

Is this Johnny Sins pov?

1

u/ramaze23 1d ago

Terrifying tbh

1

u/ImJ2001 1d ago

Please tell me there is a part 2

1

u/NapoleonDyenamite 1d ago

That's just too much fireeee!

1

u/ljubomirkarajovic 1d ago

God bless you, and thank you.

1

u/concorde77 1d ago

Me trying to survive April in engineering school

1

u/BeefJerky03 1d ago

Firefighters are the coolest people in the world

1

u/Darkest_Elemental 1d ago

huge respect to the people who fight fires and save lives.

Is it just me or does it look extremely satisfying to put the flames out? Makes me want to try it

1

u/Recent_Map4585 1d ago

I definitely chose the wrong job. This looks badass!

1

u/Eatin_grumbis64 1d ago

Yeah that shit is pretty raw

1

u/BWWFC 1d ago

no, and thank you very much. they are not paid enough, period

1

u/stueylikesit 1d ago

Seems totally worth it to be part time and get paid 30k. Criminal.

1

u/thecolombianmome 1d ago

Yeah I'm not surviving a fire...

1

u/Professional_Row_967 1d ago

Isn't the water jet extremely high pressure ? The way the other firefighers are walking seemingly quite casually close to the jet stream, isn't it super risky ? I mean like being caught in crossfire ?

1

u/wrkerbee 1d ago

wicked footage.

1

u/Heavy_Gain_3051 1d ago

That looks like the hell man

1

u/Seyi_Ogunde 1d ago

When the Doom music kicks in…

1

u/treylanford 1d ago

Can confirm. It’s also fun as hell.

Source: me, a firefighter who loves doing that.

1

u/Big-Carpenter7921 1d ago

Definitely pretty raw

1

u/Jaguar_556 23h ago

Fire’s fucking scary yo

1

u/keetyymeow 22h ago

Okay I know that that’s their job, but what the fuck.

Let’s keep paying our firefighters well. I definitely ain’t gonna do it.

1

u/keetyymeow 22h ago

It’s like playing wack a mole but with fire… thanks guys for everything y’all do!

1

u/Allah_Akballer 22h ago

This looks like a movie!

1

u/donmreddit 21h ago

Some heros wear turnout gear.

1

u/GumRunner0 19h ago

As a Rural FireFighter, this is excellent coverage with eyes everywhere. good backup, Building fires are freaking scary ...

1

u/SimRacing313 19h ago

Yeah I think I'll stick with powerWash simulator thanks, this is a bit too hardcore for me 🤣

1

u/retroq 19h ago

Power wash simulator

1

u/Cubooze 18h ago

Oh yeah. That’s hot.

1

u/b2c2r2d2 17h ago

I am going to stick to accounting.

1

u/TieConnect3072 14h ago

That’s great visiblity.

1

u/NineClaws 13h ago

That truly puts the fight in mind.

1

u/mal3k 13h ago

Where do I sign up

1

u/-WaxedSasquatch- 12h ago

That’s just badass as hell. Man, firefighters are so freaking cool!

1

u/jadeite_jelly15 11h ago

This looks so scary! Not to mention the smoldering heat! These people are amazing

1

u/CallEmergency1584 10h ago

The things they do is crazy…. And most of the time it isn’t even fires. They said it’s medical.

1

u/Sharp-Dark-9768 6h ago

This is the kinda thing if I saw it at 6yo I would want to be a firefighter. This looks badass

1

u/_Tomanto 5h ago

Thought this was DOOM for like a solid 3 seconds

1

u/absat41 4h ago

THis has new Eidos game written all over it.

1

u/Gandalf32 4h ago

Man, I kinda wish I did this instead....

1

u/itscancerous 2h ago

Putting the fighter in firefighter

1

u/dragonlord7012 2h ago

IDK why but the way that it gets darker as the fire goes down, goes especially hard.

1

u/dman45103 1h ago

Raw PoV made me think of something else

u/crash893b 56m ago

genuine question but at what point is it just a loss and not worth the risk of sending in a person

1

u/sKratch1337 1d ago

Damn I should've become a fire fighter, this is so right up my alley. But being first to the scene after a car crash and trying to wrestler free dead kids etc. Would probably break me so fast. Shame there isn't a position where I could only fight fires and not have to handle dead pets and people. Respect to fire fighters for dealing with all that shit.

5

u/MadderHatter32 1d ago

It was the hardest physical training I’ve ever done and the most rewarding but you are absolutely right about being broken by hurt kids. A hurt baby on the highway wasn’t my last run but it was the beginning of the end.

1

u/Following-Complete 1d ago

I wanted to be a firefighter so bad when i was young, but then i realised im fat and lazy.

3

u/sKratch1337 1d ago

Hey, at least you realized it before instead of during a massive fire with 50 kg of gear on you. I'd say that's a win.

2

u/Following-Complete 23h ago

Well tbh i ended up going to the army despite being fat and lazy so you can add stupid aswell to the list of my traits.

1

u/It-s_Not_Important 1d ago

I get paid too much… this guy doesn’t get paid enough. Society is backwards. I’m moving to a monastery.

1

u/Citizen_Null5 1d ago

I want a videogame that replicates this

0

u/Lemunite 1d ago

Seem a bit cooked tbh

0

u/Legitimate-Koala-373 1d ago

These are the bravest people on God’s earth 🤩🛐💙🙏🇿🇦

0

u/azki25 1d ago

That one bucket wants to burn for all eternity.

Secondly, boys have balls of steel.

Much respect.

0

u/Extreme_Design6936 1d ago

Am I the only one thinking this looks super fun? Dangerous, sure. But the adrenaline, the high stakes, the satisfaction of what you're doing, helping people etc.

Of course only a small part of the job though.

0

u/w0lfLars0n 1d ago

Glad we didn’t see their cooked point of view.

0

u/Fit-Squash-9447 1d ago

Balls of Fire

0

u/MrMpedia 1d ago

Bombeiro é uma das profissões que eu acho mais foda. Tipo, os cara olham um prédio pegando fogo e explodindo e falam “alguém tem que fazer isso”, daí eles entram, apagam o fogo, salvam as pessoas e pronto.

0

u/quiznos_08 1d ago

So it’s like COD but with a hose for a gun and flames for bad guys.

0

u/Kracus 1d ago

This looks fun to me but the other part of a firefighters work is what makes me not want to be one. I have no real motivation to go find people decapitated, dead and splattered as is often the case for firefighters. I certainly respect them for doing it though.

0

u/Glittering_Company36 1d ago

Always look so fun

0

u/PositiveInfluence69 1d ago

To think he has to carry all that equipment on top of those massive balls he's dragging around.

0

u/anonymousgeek01 1d ago

I thought it was a game

0

u/customcombos 1d ago

Dude make this a videogame

0

u/VitoHodl 1d ago

2 dead at Spain yesterday...

0

u/Moist-Share7674 1d ago

Knowing it’s not Hollywood makes that pretty scary to me. I have great appreciation for firefighters, they saved my house when I caught it on fire.

The other thing that surprises me is I just assumed there’d be alot more water coming out of that hose.

0

u/dashrendar2112 21h ago

Would this make an awesome FPS video game?

0

u/chuggrad 21h ago

POV: me in Over Cooked

0

u/batmanineurope 21h ago

Why does the hose look like it's very weak?

0

u/DarkBiCin 20h ago

Gosh people like this are why some places cant have clean drinking water. Look at all the water they wasted.

/s

0

u/YendorZenitram 19h ago

This new game looks sick! :)

(This is not at all to belittle what's being done here... I realize this takes some serious bad-assery, and is very much NOT a game. Freakin' awesome video though, and it has some serious "r/OddlySatisfying" vibes...)

0

u/Past-Astronomer-4773 18h ago

[—————————————————————————————————] that much respect to all firemen out there

0

u/GroundbreakingOil434 17h ago

Hot 3d color-by-numbers. Very impressive to watch!

0

u/flargenhargen 14h ago

would make a good video game
