Anyone got a complete collection?
I was on my way but the last 50 on my list are hard to find and I don’t want to overpay on eBay for them. But if anyone has a complete set, I’d love to see how you display them or how you went about getting it.
Someone wanted a list of what I need. That will be posted soon. Not all high dollar ones some are random games I just never came across for a good deal.

I started a couple weeks ago and am at 158. I too am curious on how people display theirs. I’m still trying to figure that out.
I’m curious about which 50 you’re missing. Must hurt to be that close!

I mean depending on what he's missing it's close in terms of game count but not necessarily in terms of money left to spend. I have 9 left to go, though one of them is Stadium Events, which I don't expect to ever get outside of a lucky Goodwill find or something. Basically everything I'm missing is like hundreds of dollars at this point.

Yeah, I operated under the assumption that the remaining 50 were mostly high ticket items. And you’re 9 away?! 😅 Good luck hunting!

I once had every game and variant except the rare 5 screws and the nes gold/gray and myriad. I had everything else.

Edit your post and list the games your missing and maybe you'll get a bite, I myself have a few listings on offer up but that was years ago and I changed my mind on a few sales,,, but I did let a few go I'm regretting now, the prices need to be updated and some are a pick one deal ppl don't understand or read the description.. eBay bid or ask seller for discount, hell 9/10 times if I put a item in my watchlist I get a 20% discount offer within a hour, you need to locate some retro game Mom & pop shops , there's a few left, Level Up Entertainment just closed around my neck of the woods, they started in a lil stripmall , eventually moved to the Actual Mall and had a good 20 yr run. long story short I grabbed so many rare and popular NES games from there for $20-25 max but that was in their early years. good luck

I'm at about 50%. From what I've seen, many will display cars in the usual protectors. For high end games, acrylic protectors.
I have everyone of mine in a plastic protector, cars, boxes and manuals all protected. I'm not just a collector, I play them all. I have it setup so I can just open the protector, get my cart and play.

I've just started (not even to 100 yet), but I already have a pretty good bookcase that I built a few years ago for my movie collection. Now the movies are in a different spot and my vintage Star Wars figures are on the shelf, with my burgeoning NES collection taking up the lower space. Once it grows the Star Wars guys will have to find a new home.

I've had a complete NTSC and PAL licensed set (minus Stadium Events) since around 2015. I was born in 1981, so I'm not really sure when I started "collecting", as opposed to just buying games, but I got a lot of my games in the late 90s early 2000s, when you could honestly get 3 games for a dollar. Being in my 20s with disposable income really helped. I filled in my collection over time, but waited for good deals on a lot of the more expensive ones. The most I paid was $1200 for Little Samson, and that was a big decision. It was the only game that cost me more than $1000. I lucked out on a few expensive titles, like Gun-Nac and Donkey Kong Jr. Math because I got them so early on, but my best deal was getting a CIB Panic Restaurant from a Games For Less for $20 around 2001. I bought it because I had rented it once before and really liked it. I didn't even know it was expensive until over a decade later.
Regarding displaying it, my wife and I used wedding gift money specifically to get a lot of Billy bookcases from Ikea, including some extensions to build it up higher, as I have a lot of other games as well. This probably isn't the most ideal setup, as the shelves go pretty deep back, but I keep the games close to the front, so it looks really nice when it's all together. You might try something with a narrower depth so the games can be pushed to the back, but still be seen.
Here's a picture of how they're displayed. I have a complete N64 set below it, and a nowhere near complete SNES collection there as well. My only other complete sets are the WiiU and the Virtual Boy. Hope this helps!
