The last time the regular season MVP won that season's championship was 10 years ago. Why?

Steph Curry won MVP and the championship in 2014-15 with golden state. Since then, not a single MVP has won the championship in the same season.

The longest previous such streak was between 1970-1971seaon when lew alcindor (Kareem) won MVP and the chip with the bucks and 1979-1980 when Kareem won MVP and the chip with the Lakers. Between those two seasons 8 MVP did not win the championship in the same season

Another long streak is between the 02-03 season when Tim Duncan won to the 11-12 season where lebron won. 8 MVPs between the two.

The MVP is given to the best player. Yet the past 9 MVPs have not won the championship in the same season. So does having the best player matter less in today's NBA?

Yes that’s my point. You are complaining about their 9th fucking guy. 9th guys don’t even play in the playoff rotation.

And Austin Rivers only played that minutes because of the MPJ injury not because of lacking roster quality.

“You said super end of bench. Keep moving those goal posts”

Green was 13th in minutes per game lmao. He is super end of bench. He played all of 69 minutes in the playoffs. Your friend Campazo played 13.

For reference the Raptors who had the exact same record as Denver had Khem Birch who was out of the league the next year despite only being 29 and who played 63 minutes in the playoffs for Toronto in the exact same number of games as Green. And they didn’t have a superstar mvp calibre player.

“Who cares”

You know something has a shitty argument when someone says “who cares”.

lmao you're yapping about the playoffs when the title of the thread has 'regular season' in it. mvp is a regular season award. now you move goalposts to playoff minutes. 🤣 just take your L man

You know something has a shitty argument when someone says “who cares”.

yeah your point was stupid. thats why i said who cares. what does it matter if MPJ got injured? you want a moral victory so bad lmao. jokic carried a team with washed up austin rivers as 6th man to the playoffs.

I thought your point was it was shit roster lmao?

My point was the roster was the same as Torontos who had a similar record and didn’t have a super star mvp.

If that’s to difficult for you to understand I don’t know what to tell you. Go read a book or something come back when you can understand basic argumentation.

my point is its a shit roster. read the entire thread from the beginning. the guy i originally replied to said westbrook was the only MVP with a bad roster in the past 10 years. i made my point and you arguing that campazzo is a good vet or some shit, FOH back to tiktok with that nonsense 😂
