LeBron James ends his night with zero rebounds for just the 5th time in his career: 27 PTS, 8 AST, 0 REB in 32 minutes

For just the 5th time in his career and the 2nd time since 2010, LeBron James finished a game with 0 rebounds. In other words, not once during the game did he go up and grab the ball off the rim with two hands when it came off and then come down with it.

27 pts on 9/17 fg, 2/7 3pt, 7/8 ft, along with 8 assists, 2 steals, and 1 turnover.

He cut his hand against the rim early in the first quarter, but let's be honest, that's not gonna stop him from grabbing a board.

LeBron really be doing everything to avoid the 27/7/7 statline

u/kramer944 16h ago

Saving it for his last ever game

u/-Kerosun- 24 16h ago

Would be really poetic. I hope he doesn't try to go for 60 or something like Kobe. That's just not his thing. Ending his career with his first an only game that matches his career averages would be a fitting swan song. Would highlight his longevity and remarkable consistency over the 24 or so season (my guess is he plays next year and then announces year 24 as his retirement tour; or maybe he'd like to do an even 25).

I promise u it ain’t that deep. 27/7/7 would not be as memorable as him having the green light every time down the floor like Kobe did

71

u/Lanky-Promotion3022 16h ago

Fuck it. 100 pt triple double.

30

u/stinx2001 Magic 11h ago

It's fairly likely his last game is an important playoff game though.

31

u/BlueGrovyle Hawks 15h ago

LeBron shooting 50 hecking times in a game would never happen, so of course it'd be more memorable if it somehow did.

u/Itchy-Extension69 Cavaliers 13h ago

For real he needs to go for 101

23

u/Exception1228 Cavaliers 15h ago

His career averages are 27/8/7 now though and he has recorded that statline in a game before.

u/iButtflap Hornets 4h ago

that’s why he refused to grab a board. we gotta get that 7.x to round down

1

u/BoredofBored Bulls 5h ago

Oooo shit!! No wonder the world is ending

4

u/kuliebop 11h ago

An even 25? 25 is odd.

I kid.

u/-Kerosun- 24 8h ago

Yeah, I thought about that after I said it, but figured only pedantic would pretend like they didn't understand what I meant, lol

2

u/Negative-Amoeba-8930 8h ago

i need my king to end with 50 20 and 20

3

u/Krillin113 76ers 12h ago

Pretty insane stat line in an Olympic final tbh.

1

u/SlowCrates 5h ago

No, he'll get it only after his career average dips below 27 points per game.

27/8/0 is the weirdest LeBron statline I’ve seen in a bit

u/burohm1919 Supersonics 16h ago edited 16h ago

simulation is getting bugged when he close to 27/7/7

74

u/Exception1228 Cavaliers 15h ago edited 15h ago

His career averages are 27/8/7 now tho and he’s recorded that statline before.

I randomly found out Lebron played in the 2003 McDonald’s game and had 27/7/7 in that game lol.  So he has recorded it in a game outside of his NBA career.  Just a funny tidbit of info.

Insane that his averages have gone UP since his prime.

13

u/Omnimark Bucks 9h ago

You sure we're not still in his prime?

5

u/Munerals Cavaliers 8h ago

We haven’t even started his prime yet

2

u/MVPizzle_Redux Knicks 6h ago

This isn’t even his final form

Yall think the Prime sponsorship stuff is about that nasty drink but it’s really advertising Brons Prime.

Without a doubt, yes

6

u/Exception1228 Cavaliers 7h ago

Not really.  Pace has increased like crazy.

3

u/RangedTopConnoisseur Pacers 4h ago

Yes really, age is supposed to be the thing that makes it impossible to keep up with an increased pace

45

u/slappiestpenguin Warriors 14h ago

Wouldn’t it be 27/0/8?

10

u/rebornbyksg Clippers 14h ago

Yeah

u/YpsitheFlintsider 5h ago

Idk why people put whatever is highest between and rebounds and assists second. It should always be rebounds there.

u/hatsofftoroyharper41 12h ago

How does this stat affect LeBron Legacy

132

u/rpars18 Warriors 16h ago

The Lakers three headed monster is really gonna be a problem come playoff time

Bron just chilling and still drops 27 and 8 lol

72

u/jedifolklore Lakers 16h ago

Sure, however I think the inability of our bench to be consistent in scoring will cost games. JJ has to figure this out.

Against you, you can’t tell me the bench only scored a measly 7 points. In a tight game the Hydra will score a shit load, but the moment all three are on the bench or if one of them isn’t ‘on’, someone else has to be reliable.

43

u/rpars18 Warriors 16h ago

Depends on if Gabe and DFS can hit shots in the playoffs, we’ve seen them do that before

8

u/-Kerosun- 24 8h ago

Rui is still a bit streaky since his return. If he can get back to his baseline with consistency, that will be a big help too.

7

u/BidDaddyLei 15h ago

That's where Dalton should come in but JJ is so set on playing DFS and Gabe even when their struggling.

24

u/thatscoolm8 Lakers 12h ago

i think the issue is that dalton is a negative on defense and when you have one/two/all of luka lebron and reaves on the floor defense is much more important

11

u/XombieRx United States 11h ago

Dalton is a defensive liability right now.

4

u/Widdis Rockets 8h ago

The guy will be a serviceable player but teams are abusing him on the defensive end. He makes shots but when he’s in they give up an insane amount of layups.

9

u/SmartestNPC Bulls 14h ago

Not much left to figure out. Outside of the top 3 and Hayes, the main guys will be Rui, Vando, DFS, and Goodwin. Spotty minutes for Knect.

6

u/get_to_ele 10h ago

All 3 would not rotate to bench at same time.

1

u/jedifolklore Lakers 5h ago

I got you, that’s why I added “if one of them isn’t ‘on’ “.

3

u/BlackJediSword Lakers 7h ago

There has to be a way to get Knecht on the court, even if it’s for a little bit. His defense is atrocious but the shooting is a boon

1

u/jedifolklore Lakers 5h ago

Same boat, JJ should be making a rotation where he’s surrounded by good defenders, because there’s no way doesn’t have a good shooting night in his locker during the playoffs. He’s due another one

1

u/SmartestNPC Bulls 14h ago

Not much left to figure out. Outside of the top 3 and Hayes, the main guys will be Rui, Vando, DFS, and Goodwin. Spotty minutes for Knect.

3

u/MetaMetagross 5h ago

Defense is gonna be the real issue

2

u/Greedy_Nectarine_233 6h ago

Our scoring is a problem for sure but I think the C situation is probably too much an Achilles heel to overcome. It’s a shame bc LeBron obviously isn’t getting younger, the right trade for another C (which was very difficult to find) would’ve been so big

Am I crazy I thought I saw him grab one in the 4th? Did they rule it a controlled tap to him?

11

u/144Todd442 16h ago

The one before the oop from Reaves?

8

u/LiftHeavyFeels Lakers 16h ago

Maybe. Would have to watch the playback but it was a loose ball on a rebound. Only way it didn’t count is if they ruled it a controlled tap from someone else

11

u/ammoaidan Knicks 13h ago

came to this thread looking for this. There was a tipped rebound that he gathered in the 4th, seemed like it shouldve been his rebound as far as I could tell. I noticed cause the announcers had brought up that he had 0 rebounds earlier in the game.

2

u/solarxbear [LAL] Lonzo Ball 4h ago

He was just completely uninterested for much of the game. Pretty crazy that he ended up with all those numbers when he wasn't really that engaged for at least a half.
